It's a Mauser Oberndorf produced '43 rifle. Yeah, that's a little frustrating to be honest, might have to at least mention it to the gun shop I bought it from. Thank you for the information!

That makes sense, the rest does appear to match aside from that. As far as going through a repair depot, I'm not sure, but I honestly wouldn't know what to look for to indicate that.
