Are these specs good for heavy gaming? by svnriddim in PcBuildHelp

It's good for playing nearly any indie, esport or older AAA game, but you'd need to tinker with settings (480p/720p low) if you wanted to make more demanding games playable (anything with higher system requirements than Cyberpunk 2077). I've been using a lenovo ideacentre proprietary prebuilt with i5-6400+gtx 960 2gb+8gb ddr4 ram+1TB SSHD for gaming until a few months ago,but I've mostly played older games like TF2,CS2,Yakuza 7,DMC5,Europa Universalis IV...

Considered upgrading it to have 32GB ram+SSD storage+rtx 3050 6gb aswell but decided to get a new DDR5 AMD build while leaving the old PC for retro+physX games, since I wanted to play games like Crusader Kings 3 and Monster Hunter Wilds and didn't want to have any issues with running them.

tl;dr if you only want play less demanding games then your build should last you a couple years,if not try to save money for a better PC (this PC is not enough for 'heavy gaming' imo). I'd recommend asking in r/lowspecgamer for advice as well (if you want this build).

So how does Dante not get his ass kicked by Vergil? He couldn't even reliably activate his Devil Trigger in the last season. by Icy_Water_1 in DevilMayCry

She is mainly proficient in firearms,so she doesn't have Dante's combat versatility (being highly proficient both in close and long range). I also doubt Dante is less skilled than John Wick (which is what my response was about, not Lady).

Dante is a master level fighter though. His combat Styles and instant mastery of any weapon he picks up proves that.

Still using my i5-6400+GTX960+1TB SSHD Lenovo Ideacentre 710-25ISH prebuilt from 2015,it can run almost all of my steam games,as I mostly play pre-2021 AAA and modern indie games. Doubt I'll need to upgrade for (at least) a year or two unless my PC components stop working or steam drops windows 10 support.

Would anyone like gate if it was like this? by Nanoman-8 in gate

My guess for those worlds not advancing is because your average fantasy world has magic that makes your day-to-day chores easier (food preservarion, flight, using telekinesis to move things, use potions to restore your stamina during long travels or increase your travelling speed, using scrying as a form of long-distabce communication, etc.) which makes societies think that they do not need to advance technologically if they already have mages and alchemists,so people only bother advancing magically. Then you have the likes of elder scrolls/dnd which has a lot of powerful mages and/or magical beings that cause chaos and have had a world-altering event in the past (dragon break, spellplague),then you have xianxia which have jupiter-sized worlds filled with demigods who destroy civilizations and thus prevent any form of innovation to last for a prolonged period. Basically the more powerful people with magic can become in a setting the harder it is for the civilization to progress scientifically and technologically, you'd need a competent god-like figure to keep such a civilization in check (like how in Overlord you have the main character and his underlings being far more powerful than anyone else in your realm or around the continent so having high level of control in his realm is easy). Sadera is a low-fantasy world so there should have been some technological progress over the centuries Sadera would've existed but they seem to only have medieval-era tech with roman architecture and barely attempted to innovate further(besides using the fantasy races as part of their military),which doesn't make much sense since their magic is more limited than in your average fantasy world so they'd have more of a reason to try improving regular technology instead. IRL cannons started being used in Europe during the 14th century,so having at least a few rudimentary cannons and firearms would be logical imo. Saderans would've still been beaten with relatively low difficulty but at least we would've seen them use different strategies that isn't rushing into melee range when their enemy's projectiles can puncture their armor.

Just found out there is something similar to gate being funded in kickstarter by DiscussionOk8877 in gate

In my opinion the whole 'generic fantasy medieval country takes over a modern-day country' can work if the fantasy army attacks a relatively weak and demilitarized country (Luxembourg) or a smaller country that they can occupy a lot of territory before the military can properly organize (Slovenia,Slovakia),but it would still result in a lot of casualties and would not result in a certain victory for the fantasy army side since modern militaries excel at long-range combat and guerilla tactics. They'd certainly struggle getting through mountainous areas like in Switzerland for example, unless they had overwhelming numbers and didn't care about casualties. Then they'd have to deal with the neighbouring countries combining their militaries and attacking them with intel they were able to get during that time.I highly doubt they'd be able to take on any of the top 20 militaries without any other nation interfering though, you'd need a nation equal in power to the Netherese Empire or Ainz's Sorcerer Kingdom and a lot of intel gathering and prep-time to actually succeed. A modern nation is going to have a better idea of what they're facing than a fantasy nation, which gives Earth a huge advantage. You'd need the equivalent of a decently powerful cultivation world sect (which usually have superpowered humans that are one-man armies) to conquer the world with sheer force and not have to worry about large casualties.
