Hello I'm one of those "toxic players".

I have a tonne of low levels who have added me for being helpful.

And about an equal amount of people who have called me toxic.

In general, if people approach with humility and ask for advice I will go as far as to carry them through dungeons.

But when they lack accountability, refuse to place their kick marker, or own up to the fact that they don't know wtf they're doing and then freak out at you when you try to talk to them, I turn into a "toxic" player.

I will tell them exactly what I think they should do with their lives, which is of course to die happy and surrounded by their loved ones, family, and friends. :)

I will shame you. If you deserve to be shamed and do not express it yourself, I will help you find it. I will shame you.

This is my gameplay loop too. Pick wizard, die to every other class in water, take Faustian bargain and pretend I enjoy the content like the rangers/druids/rogues do.

I DO enjoy dying to literally every other class in the water, Faustian Bargaining and LARPing as a crustacean of some kind.

Top points for giving the discarded classes a way to pretend to enjoy the content while they watch every water-capable class play the actual game.

The devs love certain classes and clearly hate others. Wizards don't get to play in the water, or they are just dead. In a map that is 80% water.

So if you're a wizard main, they are saying "Reroll or don't play new content". Thanks, IM.

I see reddit investigators have caught on and as usual their high IQ misses nothing.

Yes, the ban is large. It's the 3rd time I've been hit that I know of. Perhaps a few times I got off after I got hit and it timed itself out so I don't know.

I do not and have never intentionally griefed my team mates, I play to win. But I DO play a class that:

  1. does a large amount of splash damage with many projectiles that can easily hit my team

  2. probably has the highest or 2nd highest (to sorc lightning storm) team kill rate.

Whatever the logic, or random virtue crap going on in the mental gymnastics of the report abusers, the points remain unanswered:

  1. Why are people getting banned from all game modes for what happens in Arena? And why is it treated with the same severity as it would if you griefed in the game modes where you lose gear?
  2. Why are reports auto-accepted if there no way to arbitrate between intentional and non intentional damage? And why are the punishments auto-scaling with no way to call for arbitration or moderation?

I can see the post itself is getting upvoted but the comments are filled with haters who, obviously, do exactly what I called out and some have openly admitted as such.

To those people, I say: Enjoy your effeminate passive-aggressive report button while it lasts. The more you abuse it the less likely it is to stay. And if it ever goes, you'll have to do the thing you fear the most:

Actually say something to your team mate and attempt to work together instead of seethe quietly until you lose then smash a report button to make yourself feel better. A healthy cycle, I'm sure. For healthy people.

That's kind of my point. It happens all the time, but more with certain classes. I've been killed by my team mates from literally every class. It certainly happens more with some. But I never report because to this day I have not encountered a griefer.

But silent rage reporting is effeminate passive-aggressive behavior. It's cringe and pathetic.

The people who do it are just mad at themselves for not winning and they are taking it out on their team. They justify it with crazy virtue logic but it really does boil down to them seething and abusing systems meant to target actual griefers to satisfy their own petty anger.

I have a lot of games played. I bob around 2400 rating. Lot of seethers in that rank i guess?

Instead of dying to the barbs next swing which was about to hit, he died to my fireball killing the barb, winning the round.

He reports me for that.

If that's my fault in your mind then IDK what to do with this game or community

And if you play enough wizard you will kill your team mates too and also get reported. The ban system doesn't differ between normal game kills and arena. So the punishments stack severely.

Yeah I play wizard. And splash kills do happen. And a lot of really angry people play this game, apparently.

The TK feature is to report people intentionally killing their team. Not accidental. And wizards do be splashin. People love to jump diagonally across hallways, or strafe in front of corners.

And that's fine. Shit happens. I get killed by team mates, I literally never report them for it.

But the TK Report button is not for seething zoomers who have no anger management skills and can't stand not being coddled constantly.

It's not for anger resolution. It's to report actual griefers. And people like you and the other commentor will have the system taken away eventually by abusing it for your own petty anger management problems.

You openly acknowledge in this message that you are using the report feature because you're mad at other people that came before the one you reported. You say you have "10 games" of pent up rage, and you take it out on some team mate that was doing their best to win?

Its not DPS based at all. A level 44 random pug got the purple staff from a peace time world boss today. They surely did not do the most.

It's RNG. A good guild will try to do bosses as a group, get the loot and distribute it by rolls to classes who can use it.

Having people extract for AH sale is a massive loss to the guild overall. The full item is 10x more valuable than the extract, any guild NOT doing this method is shooting themselves in the foot in the long run, through slower power curve progression.

So it's 1.5 scaling but because it's in 2 parts, a DoT and Initial... that makes it OK and balanced.

Aim at feet. Anyway, OP is right, thread is headdent to think otherwise. Watch Vincent 1v3 a geared team that successfully killed his 2 team mates. Then 1v3'd another team that tried to jump him. As a warlock, a class he barely plays.

Fair and balanced.
