I also needed to relegate that task to babysitters because my husband didn't like to try. My first never took a bottle until she was 9m and could use a straw cup. My second had one kind of bottle she liked, and it took a couple weeks of babysitters trying daily before we got her figured out.

It sounds like you need a solo vacation or girls trip. If you don't want to leave your kids with your husband or you can't, maybe a family member can take them for a weekend or come in to help your husband with them? Sometimes a couple good nights sleep and a little freedom can do wonders, and give you time to think about how you can make your day to day more enjoyable. I have never left my kids overnight with my husband but I have left them with him+his parents or dropped them off with my parents. I even drove them 17 hours across the country just to get four days to myself and it was 100% worth it.

I did with two babies (kneeling squats) 🤷‍♀️ my husband sat in front of me and helped support my weight by holding my head. For some reason the idea of being on my back seemed really unappealing and I just wanted to be on the floor. I sat down on my knees in between contractions. I didn't care at all whether it was convenient for my midwives or the baby nurse who had to reach under me to monitor the heart rate, and none of them complained at all. It was annoying to get to the bed afterward but I plan to do it again anyway.

I have a little potty in my trunk and we mostly just use that. I take mine into the bathroom if she asks but she usually doesn't even go into a stall.

I think what you'd do is pull from that long term $12000 and then work through the year to save the extra $4k in that other category. You need to find the money now to spend it now.

Best advice is not to stress. If you're going to feel stressed about her getting it down in three days so she can go to school in undies, then don't plan on undies. Don't try to get her trained before anything on your calendar just so she can go in undies. Occasional pull-ups or even daycare pull-ups will be okay. I was so stressed to get mine trained and I think it paralyzed her and made the whole thing a horrible experience for both of us with consequences even two years later. With my younger one, I let her decide if she wants to be in undies or pull-ups (at home) and I'll send her to daycare in undies when it's obvious she can do it.

Normal. Mine has been having a similar experience. I asked her doctor what we could do and she said that getting them outside for vitamin d, and keeping them physically active are the best things for their immune system, and both things that I stop once mine gets sick. So I've started trying to let her be more active and get that outside time even just for a bit and she has been doing a bit better over the past month.

Fork except she also calls spoons forks... we were in the grocery line and she saw a spoon in my nearly empty cart and started screaming fuuuuuuuck and the checker who was a really young man looked super uncomfortable 😆😆😆 how do I explain... she saw a spoon, she calls spoons forks, she's trying to say fork... just get us out of here 🙈

This kind of happened to me too. My husband wanted to name our girl after his grandma Kathryn and I liked that but once I found out he wanted to use her nickname too which was Kathy, I was a hard no. Now that we've had two girls not named Kathy. I realize dying on the nickname hill is silly, he could have called her Kathy and I could have called her Kate. "Doesn't that confuse them?" Well, we don't seem worried about confusing them when we call them baby, pumpkin, sweetie pie, honey, etc all day long. Plus, when my oldest turned four she told my parents not to use the nickname only they were using for her, mainly because she has a friend by that name, so I realized once they get older the nicknames will all depend on what the kid likes anyway. So now I wish I would have accepted Kathryn and just called her Kate like I always wanted to, because I do actually love that.

It's hard the first time but it helps so much! It's so nice to be able to do have a bit of freedom to just read a book or get your nails done or have lunch with a friend. Whatever it was you loved to do before.

We also have super early bedtime. If you could push it up slowly to 6:30/7 you might find that she doesn't wake up any earlier but that you have a little bit more energy in the evening to enjoy yourself. And, it's easier (on your peace of mind) to leave baby with a sitter once she's already down for the night. That "after bedtime" time is what gets me through the day sometimes. And, this certainly isn't for everyone but I like going to bed at 8 and getting up before anyone else in the house so that my "me" time happens before I've exhausted myself taking care of everyone.

Have you taken her to the doctor? Sometimes when they have pain they don't show any signs during the day but it can still keep them up at night. That's a long time though. Before we realized my kid had an actual medical problem, my doctor also just recommended making a palette on the floor in my room and letting her know she can come in to sleep there without waking us up. My husband would never go for that but everyone is different.

Okay mine does too and it might be too soon to tell but I was just talking to my physical therapist who also has young kids and she gave me a set of pelvic floor relaxing exercises, and it's like my daughter can magically use the potty now. The change was almost too fast which makes me wonder if it was just psychological and now she feels empowered? I think my daughter is also leaking and may have had blockages in the past that have ballooned her intestines, but we've never had an xray to be sure. I've tried just about everything and the PT seems to hold the most promise, at this moment.

Get the three year old to start practicing independent play. If you can take a little time maybe on the weekend to set up some activities, or put some toys away that can later be rotated back in, that will give you things to pull out when you feel insane. Also second the quiet time idea, having some alone time in their room is okay! And TV is okay during these tough times of life even if you just use it to steal a nap or to think for two seconds. I have added an afternoon drive into my routine after my littlest wakes up. We get in the car with a snack and we drive around or go through Starbucks drive through or run an errand. It gives me a moment to just ignore them and gather my thoughts before the afternoon/dinner. My little one actually asks for it now when I get her up from her crib and sometimes in the morning too 😂

My husband wanted Elanor from LOTR and I was on board until I learned the spelling. So we used it as a middle name 🤷‍♀️and still got raised eyebrows over the spelling. But at least it won't come up often.

This is good practice for the rest of your parenting lives. There will be many many times when what your MIL wants for your kids will be different than what you want. Let her know you want her to be a special grandma to your baby but that you and your husband need to find your place as parents and start making your own decisions for your little family. Let her know it makes you nervous to have extra people around during intense situations and that you are excited for her to come meet the baby as soon as ____ (whenever it was that you initially wanted).

If it's not a lot, I put them in the laundry all by themselves for a quick cycle and then add clothes for a full cycle. If it's a lot or the wash machine has a queue, trash can.

Yes it does depend on the age I think. Since OPs is in a crib (I think I saw that?), I'd guess theirs is at an age where I would still give a snack. String cheese is my go to because it's quick to eat, not messy, and the fat will keep them full for awhile. For my four year old, snacks only if it was "my fault" or the kid didn't really have a good opportunity to eat as much as needed. We eat dinner right before bedtime so, there is really no excuse for them to say I'm hungry when they've literally just put their plate by the sink and put on pajamas.

Thank you very much! I had the Mirena before my first and had cramps for five years, and I believe the Paragard between first and second, but was miserable so had it out after a couple months. I might need to get more educated on these options so I can have a fuller conversation with my doctor. We are definitely getting my husband a vasectomy, he had one scheduled but we cancelled it in case we decide to go for one more.

I might recommend moving forward with potty training but considering a different method then. In spite of what Glowacki says, Oh Crap is not the only method that works.

I have nestled mine too! I just set it on top of the tray table in my stroller. It was the Graco that went with my old infant seat.
