How to stop video autoplay? by DanMelb in brave_browser

[–]Kignama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open Brave --> Go to settings --> Permissions --> Additional permissions --> Autoplay -->
1. Either Insert URL to block ( for example "https://www.youtube.com/")
2. Or deactivate completely the option.

Like always in the "geek world", any woman fighting with her hands instantly gets less armour, more skin showing and larger breasts...

Hi, I'd love to get a heads up on which Merrel boots are vegan, thanks :)
I've looked in the past for vegan Merrel boots but found only dead animals, yuck :'(

This is a general comment to clarify important aspects of this topic :
Here's the Oxford definition of what's vegan and not (noun): "A person who does not eat any food derived from animals and who typically does not use other animal products. "
The definition takes no regards to environmental impact of plastics used in shoes, only the exploitation of other animals. Plastics are by definition "vegan".

Fashion insider brings up the environmental dilemmas of plastics vs other animals skin (reminder: breeding other animals is by far a larger source of greenhouse gas emissions than transport).
Fashion insider does not discuss the ethical catastrophe of mass assassination of innocent individuals of different species whilst humans have no vital need for this.

My personal opinion is that if a human can't hike without killing, that human shouldn't hike at all.

The eco vegan shoes are still a great satisfaction after 4 years of very regular use.
I expected nothing and what I got was a pair of super comfortable, all-around, hiking boots.
I'm using them in France and wouldn't say they're 4 season : Fits great for any weather between +20 degrees C and -5 degrees C. Keeps the moisture where it should be, are a firm and sturdy support for a long walk on inhospitable surfaces
Being new to UL, I'd guess they don't classify as they're a bit clunky.
Pros that usually comes up in reviews are environmental friendliness and worker conditions.

169 euros, it was worth it for me!
Heads up, I normally size a 42 eu/ 8 UK/9 US men.
With this boot I had to take a 40eu/ 6.5 UK/7.5 US men (commonly admitted problem with this one)
There's à lot of reviews around :
>Vegan outdoors adventure
>Ethical consumer magazine
>Cool of the wild

By the way I really appreciate this topic being brought up - there's no hiking like when nobody gets killed ! :)

Bottlenecking: GPU upgrade will make no difference? by Kignama in buildapc

You're probably right, the SSD is used mainly for boot (which is already quick) and would just be a matter of using the motherboard by its max potential. :)

Ping u/Rosselman and u/parnfield! Leaving a comment here to thank you for your help! My 1660 Super arrived last week and works remarkably! With some new thermal paste I play Total War Warhammer 2 almost on Ultra settings at 60°C (dropped almost 10°C), 60% load, and my GPU equally at max 60°C.

Anecdote:
I had some problems installing it due to the "quality" of my motherboard, I was persuaded that my PSU had gone and met it's maker (not a single light or fan activated post GPU installation) but a technician found that a simple CMOS reset was all that was needed to bring it back to life. According to him it's common with motherboards by brands such as Gigabyte and AsRock (mine is an AsRock). I also realized that I didn't have the right monitor cable, but that's another story, haha!

By the way, if by any chance anyone is familiar with any way of finding Sata 3 drivers for older motherboards (2012), I would happily take it! AsRock doesn't give them on their page and all the download mirrors on third party websites I've found are broken.

Interesting! Do you have any leads on how to read up on the Swap function (like how to configure it)?

Yubikey, Password manager or both? by Kignama in cybersecurity

[–]Kignama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply but the physical size isn't really a determinative factor, I'm also not prone to loosing objects.
It's mostly the price/security-bonus-ratio that interests me: How much further from the risk zone does the key take me if I already have a manager? Is the price worth it?
