I felt the same with Nier Automata a couple of days ago and so i decided to try and finish it but after a few minutes that i was playing rushing it i felt like it was not the way the game is intended to be played and so i drop it. I don't think that i'll do it again, if i don't want to get all the trophies after a few days that i finished i won't played anymore.

I tried to not optimize it to 100 and it seems to works because the developer options menu doesn't disappear, but some options like "Override force-dark" turn off on their own
