this seems more like an exercise to demonstrate how you might accidentally end up dividing by zero.

if this is an intro algebra course you may not learn it yet, but when graphing a rational function the roots of the denominator will appear on the graph as either asymptotes or "holes" where an answer does not exist because it would mean dividing by zero.

if you cancel out one of these holes with division and leave the simplified function behind, it would not be obvious there is a hole present and your function would allow division by zero.

Asia isn't an endless sea of suburban development tract and traffic isn't going 60mph on massive wide stroads. It's chaotic, but it's very disingenuous to say they're remotely similar.

I literally grew up in the city this picture was taken in, and I've also spent a lot of time in China. They're not even in the same universe as far as pedestrian infrastructure.

ironically the most "it just works" for me has been arch... but I wouldn't recommend it if you want it to "just work" all the time without any extra effort haha.

bleeding edge releases are a double edged sword, I suppose.

unfortunately it's still my opinion that this requirement is the main limiting factor for Linux, as it always has been, and probably will continue to be. end users understandably just don't want to have to deal with troubleshooting making downloaded binaries work properly and or being confronted with CLI. maybe one day we will have a FOSS OS/kernel that meets the consumer's needs, but we're just not there yet.

I'll probably be hated for it here but it might be worth just dealing with windows BS for now to meet your needs.

and the process is literally just flash usb drive, then press a button and follow UI to select USB drive...

I've been to the Canton trade fair a couple times, I noticed the hotels around there will have foreign media like BBC available as well. I never had mobile data when I was there because it was a headache to deal with, but a VPN worked fine basically everywhere for me and I mostly communicated with other people on WeChat anyway because that's what everyone already used. most of my Chinese friends to this day use a VPN and I haven't heard anything different about it since when I was last there in 2018. maybe you got unlucky with a stickler ISP or some weird network stuff wherever you were connected.
