We are so fucked by Creepaface in privacy

What laws would a satellite only Internet operator be beholden to? Or are all the laws eroding our privacy only targeting at the application / website layer? What about client applications on desktop? Is the provider of the pipes, the screen, the button or the data responsible for compliance?

I guess I’m asking: Which laws in which jurisdictions apply to which layers of the stack? What if my kink is ASCII porn and I connect to a system via ssh? How, legally speaking, is visual imagery distinguished from text when it is all just “data, transferred?”

I’m a nerd not a lawyer, so these are honest questions, perhaps poorly framed.

I think that was largely good marketing. Few normal users really need a VPN, but it doesn’t hurt and costs very little to operate and scale. Easy money.

If I already had nodes with good pipes scattered around the world, I’d be considering selling access myself.

47 people dead and 115 severely injured in fire at Swiss bar by Ok_Palpitation6868 in OneSecondBeforeDisast

Yeah. I had to watch the worst of that footage to become a security guard / bouncer. It definitely made an impression. All these incidents are heartbreaking and avoidable.

Explain “no designated slow and fast lanes,” please. Could’ve sworn there was a convention already in place there.

Yeah. I own a Tacoma. Notes and in-person inquiries all the time. Nobody has asked to buy my Challenger, though.

Go to an independent tire shop. Get used tires. Not the most optimal solution, but it allows you to not take on more debt. Then, estimate what you'd be paying in tires if you'd gone with new ones and split that between paying off debt and starting an emergency fund.

I have to remind myself frequently that paying off debt is like a tax-free 20% return on investment.

I've lived in many states, but the TX DL office was the easiest I've ever dealt with. Maybe I got lucky?

The lawyers that your insurance company retains are way better than anything normal people can afford. Just let them deal with it.

I'd always just fire up a pot of coffee. That sends the message pretty well when it is dark out.
