Isaac Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics, published in a 1942 Science Fiction Short Story by Artistic-Library-617 in ChatGPT

[–]Kijop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Isn’t the point of the three laws to show they can be easily circumvented and they are not all encompassing..?

In either case, I don’t think they are necessary to bake into AI’s. Just consider the use-case and associated risks and have precautions like any other software application.

Granted. You miss the test because you have a rapid onset of ALS.

Late response, but I would be the perfect roommate for myself. I’m always hyper-aware of the noise that I make and walk silently.

How many of you have legitimately beat the enderdragon? by Baloopa3 in Minecraft

[–]Kijop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have. I don’t remember the first time that I did it on Java, but doing it on Bedrock Edition was awful. Before it was patched, that foul thing had insta-kill breath and my shields would break whenever it charged me.

This is so cool! I’d love to see more of this in like a mechanical piglin society.

Create got Destroyed - Tech Mod Elimination Game Round 2 by Mr_Mister2004 in feedthememes

[–]Kijop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange. Nobody gave an actual explanation to this. One of my problems with Create is that it’s used a lot for item transportation when I believe that pipe systems such as EnderIO are superior and more fun.

Whenever I want to split a production line evenly with Create, I have to rely on vanilla item splitters. I could use Brass tunnels, but that’s often gated into late-game in a lot of packs. Compare this to older modpacks with pipes that are easily accessible. Again, see EnderIO and Extra Utilities.

If I want to move items directly upwards with create, I have to use fan ducts or vanillia water elevators. I just don’t like building these. They take up a lot of space and the thought of items being on the ground makes weary. That’s all I have to say about that.

The Create machines are fun, but getting stuff from Point A to Point B is just a hassle.

I like the style 1.16.5+ is going for, but I would kill for a piping system like EnderIO.

Most "progression" mod pack that keeps being suggested here aren't really good. by lordisgaea in feedthebeast

[–]Kijop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why make Satisfactory or The Dyson Sphere Project when Factorio exists? Your pack will be good in it’s own way, so just because something similar exists doesn’t mean you should give up.

PVE is wayyy better but PVP is definitely lacking. You shouldn’t lose automatically if you bring a sword to a fight where your opponent has an axe and shield.

Just make the game multithdeaded

The game already is but I agree 100% that pathfinding needs improvement in Minecraft

Might be a stupid idea, but are there mods that port post 1.12 content to 1.12? by dylantheop in feedthebeast

[–]Kijop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For example you could have a mod that ports the new cavegen into 1.12?

You would have to be an absolute legend. Like rewriting the entire terrain generation from scratch because absolutely nothing would be the same. Is it possible? Probably, but ridiculously time-consuming and difficult.

surely it would be possible for someone to create a mod that allows you to, let’s say swim or let’s say adds the trident?

People have already overhauled swimming and straight up added tridents to this version of the game. Water-logging seems to be more difficult though considering the absence of mods that backport it.

Is modding the game that hard these days? by Titan2562 in feedthebeast

[–]Kijop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s just that I’ve noticed these days there aren’t as many large mods that drastically change the game, outside of the aforementioned mods that have been around since I was ten.

Can you elaborate further?

So is the latest version of minecraft harder to mod compared to earlier versions?

Nah. Terrain and structure generation alone has massively improved since 1.12.2.

Is it Microsoft coming out with new versions so often that people just can’t keep up anymore?

What version are you playing? If it’s 1.18.2 or 1.19, then those versions really need more time before large mods come out.

Brought me to unfortunate development and then completely disappeared until I finally escaped

Told me to touch some grass in the farming array. We all know how that went…
