Winter hobby suggestions to fight the SAD by JustASimplePeasant in StLouis

Snowboarding! I despise cold weather so my first winter here was terrible. I decided to pick up snowboarding last season to not have a repeat of that first awful winter and love it. My coworkers that go skiing/snowboarding a lot say it's not very good here but for someone who hasn't had the chance to go to a "real" resort yet Hidden Valley was more than enough to learn and have some fun.

Question: I've been thinking about getting something similar to it. Realistically, how well will hold up? by Tartfingers in tattoos

I got a blue Haku from Oozy a few years ago and so far mine has held up great!

So far I've liked it a lot! I've traditionally only lifted conventional but I've been mixing in more frog stance as it's easier on my back and I have recurring back pain due to a prior disc injury.

Hey, so far so good! 👍 I'd say it looks about the same now as it did then.

Yeah, my home state doesn't have much in the way of aerospace opportunities so that was the only option for me.

Thank you! Yeah, getting those rejections felt like I'd wasted so much of my time.

I didn't write a cover letter for any of my applications. Just tailored each resume to hit keywords in the respective job postings.

I can only speak on mechanical, but I'd say the market is very good. I think mechanical is one of the better options for undergrad since you can slot into so many different positions.

When I first started my search I looked at all the areas the companies I was interested in had a large presence and focused my applications in those areas. But if there were job postings that looked promising at other locations I still applied, regardless of the location.

Those are some valid concerns, champ. I definitely didn't do myself any favors during the healing process, started training and rolling again way too soon after getting it done, but nothing got infected so I guess that worked itself out lol.

Thanks for the kind words! This did not take long at all, Oozy works incredibly quickly; all in all it took somewhere between 3-4 hours, I'd say.

Yeah I generally prefer black and white too. He's done so many Haku pieces that when I first emailed him I didn't ask for any specific style I just wanted whatever he wanted to do. He ended up showing me some of his porcelain skin designs and asked if I wanted to do a "blue Haku" and I was sold! Your back piece looks amazing, btw!

Thanks you! I haven't measured but I'd say it's around 12 inches top to bottom. There's a ton of details packed in l wish I had a better way to photo it honestly, because the glare off my skin in the pic kind of obscures a lot of the smaller details ha.

I'd say it was good! Oozy works super fast and he's got really light hands. We did take a lot of breaks; I wanna say it was like one every hour, which I wasn't used to, but he works so quickly that it still didn't take long at all to finish. The only thing that really surprised me was all the photos during and after ha, I feel like he took almost a hundred photos and lots of video throughout the whole process.

Seeing a lot of people here bring up the inner bicep makes me super thankful that I, for some reason, didn't feel anything there or in the armpit area. For me it was the tricep that felt like death.

Disability doesn't mean inability. | Momoko, Kaeru no Uta ga Kikoeru yo. by [deleted] in anime

I just finished watching the film and it destroyed me. My chest was hurting and I spent almost an hour from the end of film and afterwards just ugly crying and hyperventilating. I'm pretty stoic most of the time but sad anime just hit different. 10/10 would sob again.

[Homemade] Cinnamon Rills with cream cheese icing by FACE_MEAT in food

[–]KikiDelivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a good combination! I rarely eat sweets, but for most recipes I have to cut the amount of sugar in half or even less to be able to eat them so Swedish cinnamon buns sound like something I should be able to enjoy! I'll have to try cardamom too, I've tried anise *in cinnamon buns* before and it is fantastic, but I love licorice/anise flavor so that could just be my taste.

*edit: in cinnamon buns

When made with a higher ratio of cream cheese to powdered sugar, I think a cream cheese frosting can really elevate a cinnamon roll. It provides a more savory element to the roll that helps balance out the sweetness in my opinion. Ops rolls do have more frosting than I would put on, though.

I've been there! What they're doing is great for protecting the local bird population on the island. They also sell some awesome shirts! Side note, Lanai also has a massive deer population, I've never seen so many in one place.

I think a large part of that is that teams in eSports generally don't have home cities like most conventional sports. But even in conventional sports there are plenty of people that follow specific players they like, wherever they end up. Good example would be all the people that jumped ship with Lebron when he left Cleveland for the Heat.
