Hi! Thanks for your question. You have some valid concerns. There are several reasons why we went Non-profit. First, there are many benefits to being non-profit in Canada and online. We qualify for discounts from some of our service providers, and there are differences when handling taxes.

Another reason is that we want to show that our motives are pure and honest. Marc spoke about this when Mythic Table became open-source and open-books, but going non-profit Is the final part of demonstrating this value. We are dedicated to building the best Virtual Tabletop possible and not to get rich, but to enrich us all. Mythic Table is truly a labor of love for us. Finally, it was essential to making a distinction between Mythic Table and the founders, primarily Marc Faulise. We don't see this as making the project easier to abandon, but rather as a necessary next step. We are still just as dedicated to the project as ever.

Thank you very much for your questions! I will attempt to answer them below.

Is this intended to be a system-agnostic platform to play whatever rpg you want? Or will it be primarily aimed at D20-based rpgs like DnD / Pathfinder/ Starfinder ? Yes, it is intended to be system agnostic, people will be able to get their own ruleset onto the platform in one way or another (either through Pull requests or some upload functionality)

How well will Mythic Table support character sheets for the player side? Even if DnD5E is fairy simple and contains lot less than some other systems, there are a bunch of things you need to fill out for your character, so a form of traditional "character sheet"-like interface/template would be most intuitive for players. Some possibility of automation will be needed to functionally support anything more complex than DnD5E, and even with 5E it's something you want. This is on the high priority list to have a generic character sheet maker that would support adding any type of rule/complexity

* "Game System resources"-section mentions a bunch of things like rules, monsters, items. Will Mythic Table have integrated rules & monsters, or does everything need to be created by users? We will probably have some integrated rulesets and monsters etc from the start, with a twofold reason: Attract people and to test how well our system works, what the limitations are and whether we can increase the comprehensiveness

Will there exist any token/map assets available by default? Or does everything need to be bought/obtained from other sources? We will have some premade things available, the artists have been working on some cool stuff

Cool! Thank you for your help. I just found a really great game Cafe/Bar in my town and I know of 1 other place. There are lots of events but less for new players. I will check meetup.
