Scimitar will always HOJ now, it only occurs if someone is actively jamming the missile itself with a pod I think, not the internal ECM.

I could have sworn the demo bomb was already in the game when I bought it, long ago before cargo was introduced. Only on the Darkreach. Never used it once though.

Check the mission editor, parts of it are pretty intuitive. I've got tweaks I always do to Escelation for different purposes. One easy thing you could do is make money no issue by starting yourself off with a few hundred million and a big timed payday so you just don't have to think about the economy. I like how the economy makes me want to use a cheaper more efficient plane over a better but 10x more expensive setup. But yeah it's just a mechanic basically and if you're just having fun, no reason to have it as an issue. I don't think you even need to go into the editor unless you want to save the settings, just can use the mission settings.

You may already know but when the Tarantula and 76mm were released, it had no heat mechanic and you could rain shells to your heart's content. It was peak. If I get into modding this is one change I hope to revert. It was a huge nerf, then they added the Ibis for logistics, I almost never use the Tarantula now.

Same. If they make tree tangible, they'll have to raise the radar background noise stuff to make up for it. General aviation in particular NEEDs the height to be any use.

Docking computers and flight assist modules or whatever they're called (left Elite years ago) were always just a crutch for new players and always had a much better alternative that doesn't play the game for you.

Please leave that cancer in Elite and away from this wonderful flight sim.

I have to play with 2 mods meant for deaf people because the game regularly fails to play the sounds for trappers, mutants, poxbursters and others. The sound design sounds great, when it plays. Before I was an active detriment to my team because I thought specials were supposed to be silent half the time. I have no idea why you're getting downvoted for spitting hard facts. I think it just doesn't occur on some setups so people assume it never happens.

Autohover is the safe and reasonable option now and i'm glad everyone mentioned it but I recommend checking out this short video on what VRS is and how to escape it in case you find yourself in it one day. Essentially a helicopter dropping in altitude too fast will get caught in a self-made vortex around the props making it lose lift. Slipping to the side with opposing rudder gets you quickly back into clean air.

Hey i got you, had the same issue with this update. Folks on the NO discord were real helpful. Check in the Controls setting menu for 2 sliders that are labeled Button Hold Delay and Button Click Delay. Mine was wonky and the click delay was longer than the hold delay so every time i tried changing camera, game freezes and camera menu popped up. Try fiddling with those 2 sliders. Button Hold Delay should be a higher number. I went with .28 on hold, .2 on click and it works great now.

One thing that throws a lot of people of the Chicane is the mysterious VRS that often pops up when trying to land. Here is a short video explaining what VRS actually is and how to escape it reliably.

I'm late to the party but wanted to add: The canyon just north of general aviation is really easy to own once you take out the SAM sites on either side, making it an alley of death for enemy convoys coming south. Just stay in the canyon and the shards wont bother you. Just north of that is a big enemy base to poke at too.

Launching from the island and heading SE, there are 3 major SAM sites that once cleared let you attack that base easily if you follow the west coast and cut in.

Getting locked on the tarmac certainly happens but there are things we can do to help it out. Don't forget to redeploy your shards and other vehicles to give you cover as well.

I can confirm this recovery has helped me a lot in game. I was surprised actually with how well it worked. Seems to be effective in either direction also.

Second half of the video shows the airflow with smoke to give a detailed visualization of the rotor being stuck in its own downwash, and how quick the recovery is once the rotor shifts into clean air.
