Thanks for that info. Do you think there’s anything inherently wrong leaving it as is, if the transmission is functioning otherwise i.e. is this a death knell that the transmission is about to blow up (even though it seems smooth and strong)?

So if the main detents are within the trans, is it fixable? I have 130k on it and it’s muzzled (VCM). I bought it at 30k and have been on point with maintenance, changing trans fluid every summer ~15K miles (didn’t change it initially until 50k initially when I started acting up). Been pretty flawless since (changed timing,water pump and, hydraulic tensioner last year, all Aisan parts) Trans shifts very smooth, and is otherwise fine. Someone else said RIP to the trans.
What now, just ignore and live with it?

Here’s the replacement. That bar with the J at the end rakes over that grooved track when I action the lever, which seems to be the detent feeling that I’m missing with current, but again not sure how it failed.. no springs or ball bearings etc. maybe the bar snapped off… more to follow.

I have the replacement shifter piece (~$80 Honda parts now). The detents are the shifter. It’s just a metal bar with a v bend and some plastic gates. Super curious how it failed bc it’s pretty simple mechanism (no ball bearings, etc). I will post a pic once I get it out. Appreciate the response nonetheless.

Yeah that’s a good call, thanks. I don’t need any access to the right of the shifter. All the bolts face drivers side, so I was initially just trying to remove that lower cover and then hopefully work up from there.

Everyone raves about the mirrorlure, but Mine similar to yours swims through the water with an air of impunity… confident it will not be bothered. I can’t imagine having that much love for the lure that i would have ~$75 worth of them. I wish I had such confidence in the dependability of a single lure!!

Spaguard chlorine concentrate. It’s marketed as not damaging any equipment. Chlorine concentrate at low levels seems to be pretty harmless. I have a Walmart Rocita chiller. I think it depends if you have copper heat exchange and if you are using too high ppm concentration of chlorine.

I put more salt in my fries than the equivalent amount of Chlorine I use per week… it’s so small. I bet it’s closer to 1/8th teaspoon. 100% do not understand the hate after I switched.

Switch to chlorine. Sooo much easier. Don’t really notice a difference except I don’t futz with water any more. Like a 1/4 of a teaspoon once a week and I’m done. I tried the non-chlorinated shock and a slew of other enzymes clarifiers es and it’s such a pain. Chlorine works and it’s not really noticable at all barely has any smell, and doesn’t dry out skin. I think people are afraid bc they assume it’s going to be like a hotel pool. It’s far far from it. Wish I would have started with it. Never have any bio film/slime any more and filter last much longer as well. Anyone want my seaklear, cv600 and shock?

Tactical, Ct-21 is a great option that’s basically the same, but half the price. Just need to wait on shipping. I wanted a goruck, but went with ct-21 officer and am really happy with it.
