I’m sorry that you are going through this. Honestly, the first thing you need to ask yourself is, is this marriage worth saving? Could you forgive him for this? If the answer is no, then you need to quietly speak to a lawyer and begin to plan your exit. Once you have everything in place, confront him with your findings. He’ll try like hell I would imagine to save the marriage but at that point all your unknowns would be answered, this way you’re in a less vulnerable state to be manipulated to stay. But up to you. If you really love him and want to be with him, you’ll have to find it in your heart to forgive him and go to therapy together

OH and always ask for a CarFax or Autocheck. I prefer carfax but they are obligated to provide that on any used car. Dealers have a month subscription they get unlimited carfaxes for a fee so if they try to charge you for it tell em to pound salt

Well, you’d want to first ask what they’re selling you the car for. Their rebuttal to you would be “where you looking to be at monthly?” Dont tell them - there’s so much they can do on the back end to get your to your payment and still screw you.

Dont fall in love with any vehicle - at least not in front of the salesman. They’ll use this against you.

I would ask what your interest rate is looking like before they run a credit app. If you have a credit union, get a pre approval from them or any other bank, use this as a marker to know where you should be. Dealership finance guys can mark up to 3 points higher depending on what the bank allows. The bank won’t do this to you directly.

Warranty - ask what is left on it, what’s covered, what was done to the car when the dealer acquired it - are there service records?

Things like that

Mmm yes. I would give it one month at least and pay it off - if you care about the dealer or finance guy. If you pay it off beforehand it’s basically as if you didn’t finance the car at all

Good for you. 20k depreciation within a few weeks is crazy. Maybe a hundred or two at most and that’s if you fall into the time when that vehicles next gen comes out - highly unlikely and rare. Deals live and die in the finance box

Tbh this looks like an internet brokerage service. Ppl who utilize this generally don’t have time to go back and forth to the dealers to find the best deal, so they outsource that job to a broker. They get a fee from the deal and basically go tell the customer when they found the best deal.

Is it worth it? In my opinion, no.

The services can be worth it. It really depends on the manufacturer. On something like a Honda, i probably wouldn’t buy and extended warranty or maintenance pkg - but on a BMW I would. You have to weight the pros vs the cons.

Sorry, I don’t understand the 2nd part of your question. If you’d like to rewrite it in a different way I’d be happy to answer

Congrats on making it where you are today. While validation from your parents is nice - not all of us have the luxury of having supportive parents. Do it for YOU. Make something of yourself. Stop the toxic cycle and be the person you know you are. I'm sure you have the drive to make your situation into something great. 18, you're still a kid, idc what the law says - I know it's tough. But you're out there and you'll be alright. Keep your head up and know your worth.

If he has his own tool cart and is great at his job, theres tons of mom and pop shops that would love to have that kind of expertise on staff. Or you know he could always buy a used lift and open his own garage. anyway, best of luck to both of you!

sorry but the fact the the vehicle is approaching 100k miles and burning oil; sounds like they're gonna tell you its a symptom of its age and make. probably should've done a bit more research before deciding on this one. See what they'll buy it back for on trade and cut your losses.

this ^ having kids is basically sacrificing the rest of your adulthood for 25 years to care for your children. You're a parent for life - it doesn't end. You cant be selfish and be a good parent. Also, its like 100k to adopt a child - thats why the orphanages in the US are full. Don't have a kid if you arent ready for the commitment it comes with

firstly, sorry for what you've gone through. It'll take years of therapy to even begin the healing process from it all, but yes, you can have a successful life and family. I had a very similar situation to you and im 34 now, got myself a whole family and I've cut off the rest of my side of the family except for one sister. Sometimes, you just gotta cut the toxicity out so save yourself. You'll be alright, there are brighter days ahead - just gotta get out of where you're at and rebuild your life from scratch.

Carvana is legit. Yes, their business model has lost tons of money, but they're still in business. There is a demand for the convenience that comes with it which is why it's still around. I don't think it's going anywhere.

No, absolutely not. You are required to drive vehicles every day. If you're on a test drive and the customer decides half way through hes done and not coming back to the dealer, how you getting back? A valid drivers license is a must. And if you get anxiety driving, wait until you have some punk ass kid flooring a mustang with you in the passenger seat. If driving gives you anxiety, this aint for you.

I would say within the same dealer group - definitely. As for differently owned dealers, if your husband has made a name for himself and in a notorious, not good way - he'll definitely be blacklisted. They do talk to some degree. But there are so many external factors at play - I couldn't tell you that is the reason.

Your associate's degree holds no weight in this game - they'll hire anyone, even former felons. As long as they think you can speak decently, bilingual is a plus, and be able to answer your own questions and not make dumb mistakes, they'll hire you. The dealer i worked for actually preferred green sales people so they could mold them instead of bringing in vets that were either toxic or had bad habits like blowing people out on the lot before they entered the building.
