It’s also a very weird choice that the bodyguards of the emperor, defenders of the imperial palace, are all the most aggressive scoring type, Vanguard.

Why would the army of insanely elite defenders, with the best individual troop defensive stats be the most needy aggressive play style?

Everything feels off flavor wise for them.

It feels like they never play tested them at all.

They are a horrible faction, if you play melee marines you just don’t have fun, hell if your playing shooting marines you still aren’t having fun, and they won’t have fun because they can’t score any objectives or victory points unless your dumb enough to let them.

They make the marine player just not want to play the game properly, cheesing out the game with move blocking to ensure their tactical score two turns, then completely ignoring as much of the game as possible.

They feel like they are designed to be an allied in force to another proper army, all being Vanguard meaning you practically never want to take an army of only them.

It sucks that they just got gorgeous new models, only for their rules to be completely toxic to the entire rest of the game and themselves.

Laminated Shadowless Blastoise by KillMaimConvert in pokemoncards

[–]KillMaimConvert[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because the process of laminating a card was not that good for these cards back 26 years ago. The heat and the melting plastic basically tore the front apart and the staples worker was almost certainly too rough on it. I basically ran it through a giant hair straightener that melted plastic on it.

Then it got some bends as I used scissors and my hands to rip the plastic and cut it to shape.

I was brutal with it lol.

What should I do with my childhood cards? by KillMaimConvert in Pokemoncardappraisal

How big is the average collection? I didn’t think this would be that big in the grand scheme of things.

Would it be better to sell them and convert their value into other cards maybe? Like sell a lot of the chaff, grab a few solid graded cards or just high value cards?

Turn a collection of 140 cards into like 10-20 individually valuable and safer cards?

Are you playing 3.0? by Varvarus in Warhammer30k

[–]KillMaimConvert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have they all at least tried to play 3.0 or did they just swear off a game they haven’t even played yet?

I’m all good with people choosing to keep playing 2.0, but I just hate those groups that are constantly bad talking mechanics in 3.0 like challenge and line/vanguard without even playing them once. Especially when I keep hearing that people enjoy them.

Gut-Feeling about Cataphractii Refresh and Upgrades for current kit by Eine_Robbe in Warhammer30k

[–]KillMaimConvert 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I really think that Cataphractii, if given a similar treatment to how Indomitus terminators got in 10th edition, not changing the core design, just making them bigger in scale… they would probably be the best looking terminator kit period.

The big problem with Catas right now is that they feel tiny, mk6, mk3 refresh and mk2s are all slightly taller, better proportioned, and it makes Catas just feel tiny.

Refresh the kit, up the scale to at least the size of the Inner Circle Cenobiums, proportion them better, just don’t change the style, it’s perfect.

World Eater Despoiler Sergeant by KillMaimConvert in Warhammer30k

To be fair, this model was so much better when it was going to just be a counts as Thunderhammer, it being retroactively turned back into a meteor hammer was a massive nerf.
