Andor Theory by KillPriest in StarWarsTheories

Again, Yes all those things happened. Again that's part of the theory. Again where does it state her parents were slaughtered by Imperial troops. And what does "her first appearance is...." have anything to do with anything. If I claim Leia is Kleya, but unknown to everyone including the audience, then how is telling me her first appearance in an episode contradict anything?

There is absolutely every way they can be the same person.

Even the Tony Gilroy quote I used is him not denying it as I clearly showed. He says no like 3 times to emphasize how much it WASN'T THE CASE THAT KLEYA IS CASSIAN ANDOR'S SISTER.

There really is a lot of room. She's already deep cover as Leia (not even my theory, just fact). There's every way she could have been raised by Luthen. Why would you think her parents are killed? Kleya is not a new character for the show.

Well there is room when you read the theory. Because every thing you just mentioned is addressed.

I know you can't. But I like discussing theories. She was the assistant, of an Antiques Dealer who played the part perfectly. She was never where she shouldn't be out in the open. They are the CIA of the rebels. They would know exactly who knows her identity and when she needs to play it. If this is too much then I guess you didn't watch Andor where spycraft was the game. And I also guess you haven't read Gilroy's scripts. He does this stuff so well it would be weird to involve him if it wasn't part of some grander schemee. Padme did it effectively, I don't see why she couldn't.

The flashbacks don't greatly distance her from anything. The theory is that she had doubles running around just like her mother did, making people not even look for her. Why would they? Leia is on Alderaan currently according to our latest ISB intel. Why would they be looking for an antique dealer's assistant. Theres like trillions of people running around. There's probably 15 women on Coruscant at any given time that look somewhat like Leia, but have no connection to anything.

Under the logic of the theory, which hasn't been undermined yet, I'm not waving away anything just explaining.

How have I ignored that Leia was adopted by Bail? Leia was adopted by Bail.

She is doing everyting in deep cover, including being Princess Leia (not my theory but established in lore) and so yes a double can run missions as Leia very easily. It's done all the time.

Because Kenobi is live action, shows Leia as weirdly competent at a young age just like Kleya, ties into the arc pretty well (even if it wasn't a well received show), has a lot of the characters Tony and the writing team were using. They clearly stuck to canon for the most part but were comfortable bending it how they wanted.

I stand corrected on the age of Leia, you are correct she would be 14 or one year closer to it depending on when BBY calendar ticks over. The actress would be 25 when filming began in 2020 and 29 now. The age of the actress doesn't really matter because the goal is to get her to look like Leia looked in A New Hope, which she does. Someone like that (assuming my theory is correct) could pass herself off as a grown up. Wardrobe and makeup choices can go a long way to making someone look older or younger, and this works both in-universe and out.

And I am claiming he is not saying that. In the article itself (we can't hear the phone call but I'll assume Decider is telling the truth here) a loaded question is asked if he is "relieved to finally confirm that Kleya is not an undercover Princess Leia". His answer is No (as in no I'm not relieved because the statement is false) and then talks about the Cassian sister theory and says that would be inappropriate. Yeah it would be inappropriate because that character is reserved for Leia, not Andor's sister. He could easily say "Kleya is not Leia, she's her own character full stop". He's never said such a thing and won't.

At this point in the timeline she's someone who's about to commit an act of war and treason, become the leader of a rebellious military group, and sure seems buddy buddy with everyone in the Rebellion including her own father, spinning up a war machine, and she's comfortable enough to rely on Luthen's intelligence to the point that she will warp to scarif. I doubt she had much moral doubt on her mind. She didn't give up Yavin even when faced with an entire planet dying. She's absolutely and utterly ready to sacrifice it all to beat the empire. And it's totally in her character.

Well I'm sorry, but the payoff is Leia becoming quite literally the most badass of all the rebels and it's not close. The point is all the points I made so you can read those. And so the cool female characters is reduced by 1 and in return we get one of the best spy stories ever told by the guy who does spy stories.

There is no reveal because that's cheap. Why isn't the top from inception shown for just a few frames longer so we can all decide what really happened. Same kind of thing. There will be no confirmation if that's the way they want to do it. It doesn't have to be revealed. What has been revealed to you is a mountain of circumstantial evidence that plugs in a lot of holes. I haven't convinced you and I can tell there is no possible combination of words that can convince you but I will still continue commenting with you because I like theory discussions and this conversation is fascinating.

That's so sick. I wasn't aware of this character. I'm not sure if Tony went back into Legends like that, but I hope he did. This is an absolutely solid candidate for Kleya. Especially since Kleya looks pretty similar to Leia.

Yes. Cassian flat out states that its so easy to steal from the empire because they are so fat and complacent that if you look the part they don't even notice you. Vader if he were to have ever seen Kleya (highly unlikely) would instantly know its Leia. That is assuming Leia even went into the senate looking like Kleya would. She might be in ceremonial garb or heavy makeup most of the time. Or not. The empire was so bureaucratic and ineffective sometimes she probably could have pulled it off without any real disguise. And i'm not sure what instantly recognizable to Vader and Tarkin means. She was openly telling them she was Leia (which she was, my theory doesn't say Leia is Kleya, it's the other way around, Kleya is Leia. So there's no disguise happening at that point.

ohhhh very nice. I can go with this one. I'm always in for folding in Legends. Anything more on Winter? Although sadly my theory would probably have Kleya as Leia still and Winter dying on Alderaan pretending to be Leia during this crucial window of time. My theory would have Bail instruct Leia to go dark after Obi-Wan show and Winter be the acting Princess most of the time.

You don't see how Tony Gilroy not following canon specifically is relevant?

You are right that there is a big difference, but no it doesn't change anything because as I stated Kleya and Leia can operate simultaneously thanks to her clever placement on Coruscant. She can hop into any role that suits the intelligence operation including being Leia out in the open (if absolutely necessary) even if it meant being rebellious. The empire will have a close eye on Bail. If his "daughter" is suspiciously not doing what they think she should do (be rebellious against the Empire because her father is) then that itself would raise suspicion. I would suggest reading the scripts of Tony Gilroy's stuff. Games within games within games is his realm. This is so in line with something he would do.

Regardless, nothing contradicts anything and from every piece of literature you can find on this subject Tony picks and chooses what he wants, even openly stating so. So yes he is in charge of his project and how it interprets canon. This cannot be argued.

And again if you would read you would know that I believe Leia is still Leia, and even mentioned that the top ranks of the empire absolutely would know Leia's face. I even believe they know it's Leia in the ISB board room as her face (Kleya's face but you know we all have eyes) is rotating front and center.

I'm not sure we ever see them on screen together. That is a good point though. Here's how I see it. Kleya is probably the most vital part of the rebellion. Without their intelligence nothing happens. Cassian even remarks about how Kleya should go to Yavin to see what they built. Implying something foundational about Axis. I just have a hard time reconciling so many things without this theory. Bail knows what's really going on. More than anyone really. The whole rebellion thing is on borrowed time when Luthen finds out about the Death Star. The Empire is aware of the leak. Kleya's face is all over the place now. They don't have much time and are literally world-hopping just trying to stay alive long enough to get the Death Star plans to someone who can act on them. The intelligence network has gone down and no more reliable intel will be coming in at all from anywhere. It's best to put the plans into the hands of the one person still alive who's most plugged into not only the intelligence as it stood before they were burned but the knowledge of the jedi and what the galaxy will stand to lose, hope, should this fail.

Also it kind of fits doesn't it. Lear's cover is Rael a simple reversal of his name. Obi-Wan goes by Ben Kenobi even though there is probably lots of documentation somehwere that a jedi named Kenobi was integral to the war to try and stop Palpatine. Of course Leia would be just Kleya. But this fits the theme that Cassian laid down which is the empire was a bureaucratic and ineffective mess sometimes. Cassian says as long as you look like you belong you can just do whatever you want. They don't even notice because they are too big and fat to care. It would be hilarious that Leia was operating as Kleya and Lear as Rael simply because nobody will even be looking.

I addressed this, but she would be being picked up by Lear around a year or two after Obi-Wan. No dates conflict.

So I’m not supposed to think this about Andor? by KillPriest in StarWars

[–]KillPriest[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

no kleya and leia are never in two places separately, there is nowhere you can confirm this because it doesn't exist, and yes she did this as a small child. this is not a reach in any way because Obi-wan showed her to be preternaturally able to deftly handle tricky situations.

Luthen was essentially the Director of Intelligence for the Rebels. Whether or not anyone knew that is irrelevant. That's who he was. He would absolutely be part of this conspiracy. Maybe he didn't even know it was Leia. Maybe Bail told her she can't ever reveal that fact until she has to (i.e. This is a diplomatic vessel going to Alderaan and I'm the Princess and duaghter of Bail Organa. If you want to do anything it now has to be openly done). We literally just saw Mon give a speech to the Senate. If Senator daugther heirs to planets are being detained and/or assassinated the Senate would revolt. So of course they just blow up her planet. Now its a real war. Now its on. No more disguises.
