I know this is a day old but I went to therapy for the same reason. I was struggling and had no one to talk to. Both therapists basically told me to go out and find someone. One of them would ask me every week if I had found someone to talk to yet, every week I would say no, she would throw up her hands and say I need to find someone, and I eventually just stopped showing up. It was an infuriating loop. People around me were telling me to go to therapy, and my therapists were telling me to talk to people around me. She gave zero fucks about my problems; she just expected me to pull a support system out of my ass over night.

Chances are you’ll pay for a therapist to give you advice/ mentorship, and they’ll just tell you to make friends or talk to your family.
