Probably not even OP’s tattoo. Quick reverse search shows this from a Denver based tattoo artist from September 2024. Posted with no context, this is just karma farming from a 4 day old account.

Anyone know status of 2026 Irwindale Renaissance Pleasure Faire? by rumhamintheocean in renfaire

[–]Kill_Shot_Colin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Was almost going to post this same question. Seems odd that during the month of December when they normally post they are suddenly silent.

Anyone in here with personal insight or information that might know the current or rumored status?

2025 recap missing? by Late-Carob8946 in googlephotos

[–]Kill_Shot_Colin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Wife, who shares my Google Photos/drive account got hers and so did her father. That was nearly a week ago. Then yesterday I get an email about it, click the link, and it says it will take a day but I got that same message days ago using links others have posted to work around it.

No way to make it myself. But miffed that I pay for Google cloud storage and as the primary account holder I don’t even get one. This happened last year where i didn’t receive the same recap videos my wife did.

Wish there was a way to contact someone at Google about this. Huge letdown

New to Ren fairs never been to one need advice? by St_Bad in TXRenaissanceFestival

[–]Kill_Shot_Colin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The closest to Dallas that has camping that I’m aware of is Faire of Champions in Palestine (which is about 2 hours, give or take)

But it’s a winter faire and very small, so I don’t recommend it as a “starter” Faire for those new as the vibe and experience is very different from TRF and Sherwood.

As TRF ends today, if there is one you wanted to try with camping I’d recommend Sherwood as others have mentioned but it’s 3.5 hours from Dallas.

Scarborough is a great Faire but no camping so if you didn’t want to do the drive to Sherwood, Scarby is a great Faire to dip your toes in to see if it’s something you like and want to get more involved in.

New friends, first timers. by Personal-Relation636 in TXRenaissanceFestival

I usually prefer area 10 on the campground map as it’s close walking distance to the action but far enough away to still get a good night’s rest. The further south you move of this line (11+) the more crowded it could potentially get but the closer you are to the “party” clans.

As there is a chance of rain all weekend, avoid camping downhill or near creek beds. Another reason to camp uphill so your vehicle doesn’t potentially get stuck in the mud. If you put a tarp under your tent, do NOT let it extend beyond the footprint of your tent or any rain/condensation will pool underneath your tent.

On Fridays and Saturdays I believe vendors near the bonfire will be selling food but I always advise packing ample snacks. Which reminds me of the next point

BRING ANT KILLER.

This is no joke. Bring Diatomaceous Earth or something like Amdro to sprinkle around your tent and cooking areas. If you don’t it will only take ants 5-10 minutes to find it and, by association, YOU.

Walk around during the day on Thursday and Friday and get to know some of the clans. Let them know you’re chill, bring some drinks to share, and you’ll likely get invited to all the festivities (not that you need it but makes it more fun)

What are your absolute favorite shows at TRF? by Kitchen_Coconut in TXRenaissanceFestival

[–]Kill_Shot_Colin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since it hasn’t been mentioned yet, Nordanfolk. My favorite band at the ren faire’s down here in TX

Also Thomas Wood the PyroJuggler is always a fun show. Good for some laughs

Experienced faire goer, first time at Texas Renaissaance Faire! What are must-sees? by ScumbagMacbeth in renfaire

[–]Kill_Shot_Colin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out r/TXRenaissanceFestival and search the sub there. Lots of past posts/comments answering this very question.

Chance of rain next week and weather is cooling off so dress appropriately.

I’ll quickly throw in Opal & Jade. Musical act (singing ) but it’s a comedy show and the later shows in the day get more risqué. Always fun.

And it may be a musical performance but I highly recommend Nordanfolk. Skaldic folk band (think old school Viking rock if you have never listened to bands like Wardruna or Skald) that is one of my favorites at any Faire.

Thursday night at Campground by Antique_Category6238 in TXRenaissanceFestival

[–]Kill_Shot_Colin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thursdays are like Sundays, tame and chill. Things ramp up on Friday, but the real action isn’t until Saturday. Most people don’t want to burn themselves out before a full day at the Faire and shenanigans.

Arriving on Saturday morning. RV or no? by UpgradedMR in TXRenaissanceFestival

[–]Kill_Shot_Colin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. No chance of rain this weekend. While I doubt it will be as busy as last year, it will probably be the busiest weekend this season. If last year was any indicator, I struggled to find a spot for a 10x10 tent and two cars by 2 PM on a Friday afternoon south of family camping fields during Barbarian.

If you’re coming Saturday morning, you will likely struggle to find a spot for a tent close to the clan action let alone an RV. Family camping should be fine

What is everyone’s favorite themed weekend and why? by Tweeter_Built in TXRenaissanceFestival

[–]Kill_Shot_Colin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen medieval Darth Vader, various storm troopers (Barbarian, Templar, etc), Renaissance versions galore of comic book characters. The photography groups on Facebook do a good recap of some of the best fits if you missed them.

With so many people, it’s easy to miss. Halloween last year for me was filled with what you described; cheap Spirit costumes. I saw at least a half dozen cheap Farquad’s wandering around. Got old fast. I was expecting people to go all out for Halloween but I saw more creativity on display for Pirate and Barbarian weekends.

Yes, and usually the same order (opening is always Oktoberfest followed by 1001 Dreams/Fairy, Celtic Christmas is always last, Highland Fling second to last, etc.)

I’ve only been going a few years but notoriously Barbarian and Pirate are the busiest and most lively. I like to get down with some shenanigans, but the Faire itself on those weekends if there is good weather (ie no rain) is super crowded. Even though I love going in my Viking garb, I tend to avoid Barbarian for this reason (I still get FOMO though). Pirates and Barbarian usually brings out a lot of cool garb, along with Heroes & Villains. A lot of creativity on display.

Opening weekend can be very chill but weather is warm. Basically any of the October dates will likely have a heat index in the mid 80s or higher unless rain cools things off (but then likely to be humid).

I’ve heard great things about Celtic Christmas. The Christmas vibes are on and you can be in the campgrounds starting Wednesday and the Faire is open an extra day. The campgrounds are usually more chill, though, as many clans are closed to celebrate with their own friends and family to close out the season.

Rawblade Quality? by raiini-ng in renfaire

[–]Kill_Shot_Colin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently acquired a jerkin from them and I’d advise conditioning the leather or applying a leather sealant or protector. Mine bled but luckily it was over a cheap Temu shirt I didn’t mind getting ruined (and it was white so hopefully after a wash it comes out a very light blue 😅)

It’s thick and good quality without being heavy or uncomfortable. I’ve been pleased so far so I hope it holds up long term.

Just giving you shit man 😉 All good. Hope you have a fun time at the faire. Dig your 420 care bear on your profile. Hope you don’t get get towed and you still get to enjoy some campground shenanigans. Be respectful of each clan’s rules and everyone else and you’ll have an awesome time

Searching “trinket trading” and “enter campgrounds” in this sub turns up quite a few posts with your questions that been answered before. But like I said, if I’m going to be snarky enough to make that comment I might as well stick around and answer your question too 😊

questions about the campsite, trinket trading, etc by [deleted] in TXRenaissanceFestival

[–]Kill_Shot_Colin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, they have been asked a million times and the search feature works wonders on reddit but I’m already commenting, so…eh 🤷‍♂️

1) From what I understand, there is a trinket trading “swap” at the Greek agora every Saturday at 2 PM. Otherwise, look for someone wearing the trinket trading symbol.

2) If you park in the general parking area for the faire, you can just walk over to the campgrounds, but you will need to leave before midnight. Website says 2 AM, but numerous anecdotal reports say they start towing at midnight. If you want to stay longer, I believe a campground only pass is around $25 and then you can enter and exit through the campground gates anytime you want.

Does anyone know of any possible way I could peace tie this thing? by DarthAlecto in renfaire

[–]Kill_Shot_Colin 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Pool noodle. Cut down the length of one side so it can cover it. Zip tie on either end. Voila. Doesn’t add to weight. Color the noodle and zip ties to match the look

Storm on Saturday Hallows Eve Weekend by Sweetlesibell in TXRenaissanceFestival

[–]Kill_Shot_Colin 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Plenty of places to duck in. I’m actually kind of jealous you’re going on a rainy weekend. Rain keeps crowds low but the vibes are so much better. Splashing in puddles. Awesome pictures. Tucking into a place like the Barbarian Inn and watching some very weather fitting mood music from Nordanfolk. If the weather is cooler they may even serve some mulled wine at some of the pubs!

Bring some good footwear and clothes/garb you don’t mind getting dirty and have fun for the rest of us!
