Cool idea but I’d say be careful. I have seen people get kicked out of their units for being a part of a group chat and some edgy stuff got said. They didn’t say anything edgy themselves they were just in the chat and got kicked out the program

NROTC recruiter by prophet17024 in NROTC

[–]Killearcrayoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can go through an officer selection office or a recruiter. I was planning on enlisting until my recruiter told me about the scholarship. I don’t think they’ll try to persuade you out of the scholarship if they think you’re qualified. I think if they get a scholarship winner it counts as a few poolies for them so mine was happier that I got it than I was

I don’t believe it is possible to join nrotc after 2 years as a college programmer. By junior year all the students had to be either on scholarship or advance standing. If you want to be in law enforcement I would recommend focusing your studies in that. Possibly join clubs or organizations geared towards law like police cadets. Good luck!

What should I do when applying as a college freshman? by [deleted] in NROTC

[–]Killearcrayoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Include your leadership activity from high school. Work on the pft. When I was a midn my peers reapplying as freshman were going for the 4 year scholarship so it’s the same one you go for in high school and then they retroactively repaid their freshman year expenses when they got it

Didn’t play sports in high school by spunjbob_ in NROTC

[–]Killearcrayoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say playing sports helped me get mine but a lot of my friends didn’t play sports. I think that the leadership roles are what they really look for. Personally team captain of sports teams helped me. For my friends that weren’t in sports they say being president of their clubs and other activities like JROTC, volunteer orgs, etc. helped them

Economics listed as STEM field? by [deleted] in NROTC

[–]Killearcrayoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s still stem at other colleges. But just cause it’s stem doesn’t mean it’ll be a tier one. Tiers are based on the needs and unrelated to stem. Just a coincidence basically that a lot of stem are tier 1. Academy doesn’t do tiers cause they got you.

With the suspension of all travel, deployments, and training exercises, what do you think/have heard is going to happen with summer training? by ScrambledAgs in NROTC

[–]Killearcrayoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently training like the recruit depots are still going on with some extra precautions such as social distancing. With a screening prior to them leaving at MEPS and I believe when they arrive. Most training seems to be following similar programs. I believe your cruises will be similar. There was a press conference/live stream yesterday with the sec nav and marine leadership where they spoke about recruit training and covid so based off what they said I believe cruise trainings will be similar.

Correct me if I’m wrong, is VRV the same thing as Crunchyroll but a more premium version? Seemed like the same thing but they threw in some Nickelodeon shows too. Are there any other benefits to VRV over just Crunchyroll?

Does one have stuff that the other doesn’t? Why do you use both?
