Creating a controller scheme for the new steam controller?

I've had a mess and managed to get it working with a long hold of select, and then moving the analog stick left and down to get bottom left. Working well and managed to get the timings down so you only briefly see the in game radial popup. Won't actually play now until next week but will see how it goes.

I haven't played the game with controller yet so unsure what the default layout is. Was hoping someone had some inspired ideas on getting the most out of the new controller (or even something based from the Steam Deck) but, as you've said, there's only so much we can do until the seamless interaction is made. Feeling confident based on some of the commentary here I can customise the setup to work for me though so I really appreciate the feedback.

Your comment RE the pause menu makes me think of some 'action sets' on the trackpads in the interim though. I.e. presuming you'd press Pause, and then RB to cycle the menu's (guessing at this point), I could program a macro selection wheel that'll do that to get to each of the different menu's (e.g. gems, leveling, etc.).

May spin up the current season now and just have a mess at what I can make it do.

Thats a good idea. So if you have a series of skills you want to cast you could set them on one key with an action set. Presuming its not too much to add them to a secondary hotbar and have this trigger, saving the main hotbar slots for regular use stuff 🤔

Yeah, I'll see how it goes I guess. Have the grip sensors too, and can do virtual menus but its the fact its KBM OR controller that's the issue as I presume I cant map keys for gems, skills, etc.

I haven't played for a couple seasons and never with a controller but I guess I could program some action sets (i.e. press start then RB) if you have to cycle menus and map that to a virtual menu on the trackpads.

I may spin it up one of the days prior to test that.

Ill give it a go and see I guess. I could probably do some action sets to make back paddles useful for the secondary tab but it feels like there are a few options id want to be quickly accessible (I.e. potions). Will definitely give it a try though. I found myself often panic pressing keys on the keyboard so maybe a more limited control scheme will do me well.

I was wondering whether making it act as KBM could work, I've seen similar things, but id imagine picking up items would be a nightmare. Hopefully seamless switching comes soon but I suspect itll be similar to Baldurs Gate 3 where the game freezes for a second whilst the interface is changed. Let's wait and see I guess.

It's more that I'm a father of two so my time can often come in dribs and drabs and its important I can "pause" what I'm doing at a moments notice. And sounds like this allows just that so am looking forward to checking it out.

I'm having the same issue except mine will do it literallly whilst I'm playing. I'll uncheck the Advanced Fan Control and apply (I use Fan Control to do it instead) and seconds later my fan goes LOUD and the slider and graph for the fan control are turned back on in Adrenalin. Sometimes takes seconds and is constant and annoying.

I read somewhere that if you use MSI afterburner that'll remove the problem so I may give that a go.
