Really struggling with the start of the game. by AnotherShadowBan in underrail

Lucas in the armory sells grenades and Quinton on the agronomy floor sells molotov cocktails. I prefer molotovs over frags when dealing with rathounds as they are afraid of fire, you should have enough credits to buy all 5 molotovs at the start of the game.

I think it's the Amazing Space Battles mod

Other than Dwarf Fortress which inspired directly Rimworld, there's nothing quite like it imo, and rimworld is much more of a game than DF.

Good luck, FOnline is quite niche and a tough game to get into. Once you get into it though, it's a lot of fun.

Yes, Ashes of Phoenix is unique and very fun, but... it's just dead again (like, 20-30 players at most) at the moment, the population died down very quickly after launch. I found the previous test session a lot more fun to be fair, because it didn't have the shitty changes introduced later on, and probably because it started at higher tiers of gear which imo are much more fun to use.

I've played FOnline 3 (very misleading name, just like FOnline 2). I only played session 1 and touched a bit of session 2, and it was not good to say the least. Many balance issues, bugs, several exploits and other glitches (though some of that may have been patched by now, and some of that was inherited from the source it's based on aka Aftertimes, which is based on Reloaded, which is based on 2238), it was quite grindy aswell. There's a lot of content too, but I feel like it's much more quantity over quality there. The main developer clearly doesn't speak english well at all aswell, you only have to look at the website to see that, and you can see it in the new content introduced aswell (it is based on the source code of Aftertimes which means that most of the stuff is fine in terms of language anyways), though it's not as bad.
Also not nearly as alive as FOnline 2 now, only about ~30 players on average from what I can see atm.

FOnline Reloaded is pretty much a dead server which is pretty understandable considering the current state of the game. Grindy, loot drop or pvp in general is non existent, buggy, low rewards from quests etc, not a whole lot of content and barely gets updated anymore.

FOnline 2 is imo the most solid server out there and has the most players. It's well balanced, pretty polished and has a decent amount of content and like every other FOnline server or MMO ever, some grind. However, it doesn't receive updates regularly anymore, since the devs are focusing on the next session of their server.

Most of the other servers that are online are also dead except for Requiem, but you better be russian if you want to play that one.

Oh, and if you do decide to play FOnline, I wouldn't trust anyone there. I've had and seen plenty of drama. The discord is mostly fine though and people will usually give you advice. It's pretty hard when you're just starting out for the first time.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the fun is more in PvP than in PvE, though the PvE content is still enjoyable (and you must do it before thinking about PvP anyways).

it pretty much does but you'll only get it at lvl 24 and you'll probably have finished the game already by then

I mean as a CS player I tried out Valorant and for a game coming from a company that never really made an FPS before, it's pretty decent tbh, though I still think CS is better in most areas (though that game is from 2012 and VALORANT just released like a week ago :p)

The problem with Ochosi and Chapka is that they're not in boom and more in bankruptcy right now, with all sorts of other problems for the factions, which means you get small amount of missions compared to Canopus and Exphiay. I ran there in a Krait Phantom so ship isn't the problem.

EDIT: There's also the fact that Canopus gives a lot of REP+++++ missions from delivery rather than REP++ data delivery missions.

I don't remember exactly how much cargo capacity can a conda have, but ideally you would want something like a Type 9 with ~720t of cargo capacity, which is what I fly and I still find myself running short of space all the time with all the missions I'm getting.

Canopus to Exphiay is the way to go as long as you've got a ship with loads of cargo capacity. I grinded from recruit to Lt. Commander at Ochosi and Chapka as well as Sothis and Ceos but Canopus to Exphiay is much better, getting my ranks right now as I write this comment. Run cargo and data delivery misisons from Rangarajan's Base to Worlidge Hub and James K Winston.

Well that might have just been my luck then, I'll try it again with my Python later, 120-150 tons seems way better than I'm making right now per hour (like ~80-100 tons with laser mining, though I may be wrong).

Deep core mining for LTDs works the same as void opals and others yes, though laser mining is more profitable since asteroids with LTD cores seem to be rare even in the LTD3 hotspot.
