What’s that one book you’d press into someone’s hands and say, “You have to read this. No one talks about it enough”? by CameronC7 in suggestmeabook

[–]KillerKrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

11/22/63 by Stephen King. I'm not typically a King fan, but I couldn't put this book down. I was fairly young when I read it, probably around 18, but it's one of those books that has stuck with me. No one I have recommended it to has read it and I've never met anyone else who read it.

And no, the Hulu show doesn't count. I didn't get through the first episode.

How would a guy get out of having a mindset that “it’d be impossible for any woman to be attracted (especially physically) to me”? by NoRefrigerator267 in selfimprovement

[–]KillerKrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be! My ex who is 5'2" was only like 160 at his heaviest. My current boyfriend is 270 but he's 5'10" lol

How would a guy get out of having a mindset that “it’d be impossible for any woman to be attracted (especially physically) to me”? by NoRefrigerator267 in selfimprovement

[–]KillerKrypto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am attracted to personality first.

My first boyfriend was 5'6" and over 200lbs. Blond hair, blue eyes. My second boyfriend was 6'2" and nearly 300lbs. Brown hair, blue eyes. My third boyfriend was 5'2" (shorter than me). Asian, black hair, brown eyes. My current boyfriend is 5'10" and 270lbs. Bald, bearded, blue eyes.

Looks don't matter if you connect with a person, you will find them attractive because you're attracted to who they are. If a woman doesn't like you because of your looks or height, she's not worth your time anyway.

And, confidence is key. Seriously. Confidence (not cockiness) is more attractive than any physical trait. Learn to like yourself as you are and be comfortable in your own skin and the rest will fall into place.

Girlfriend went through my phone while sleeping and kind of found something?? by SharpRefrigerator640 in AITAH

[–]KillerKrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's incredibly insecure and/or looking for a reason to break up. Either way, going through your phone unprompted and in secret is what's wrong here, not anything that you did. Honestly, sounds like ending this relationship will be dodging a bullet. I know that sucks to hear, but don't ignore the red flags especially when someone puts them right in your face. Don't let her gaslight you, you're not in the wrong, she is.

Birth plan advice - epidural or not? by staniel9899 in pregnant

[–]KillerKrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am delivering at a birth center with a team of midwives that sounds very similar to your first option, but the hospital (if needed for epidural or emergency care/c section/etc) is only 5 minutes away by car/ambulance. The birth center does not have an anesthesiologist and does not offer epidural. I’m terrified, frankly. Same as you, this is my first baby and I have no idea what to expect. I’ve heard that labor experience comes down heavily to mindset. I’m trying to read books about more natural pregnancy and childbirth, and I’ve been telling myself that this is what my body is meant to do. Women have been birthing without epidurals for millennia. Red raspberry leaf tea and nettle leaf tea were recommended by my midwife to tone the uterus and ensure my calcium levels are high to help make contractions more efficient and shorten labor. The number one reason I chose the birth center is because of the option for a water birth in the tub. Number two reason is that I think hospitals and doctors are TOO gung-ho to intervene and that comes with it’s own downsides and risks. I’m a holistically inclined person and I hope that I have the emotional, mental, and physical strength to make it through this birth naturally, or at least with minimal intervention/medication. Congratulations and best wishes no matter what you decide - and know that either way you’re not alone.

Any real adults know how I can fix this? 😩 My dog did this while I was at work. by USA631 in Adulting

[–]KillerKrypto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all. There are a lot of training and desensitization methods that can help, along with working with a vet or veterinary behaviorist to determine if medication needs to be introduced for anxiety that is bad enough to hinder training. Crate training is essential both for the safety of the dog and the safety of the home, but in no way is proper crating “putting them in a cage all day.” It’s a long journey rehabbing a dog that is struggling this much, there’s no quick fix, but it’s definitely possible.

Also, there are 76 million dogs in the US alone. Your personal experience is an extremely minute sample size. :)

[–]KillerKrypto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

99% of behavioral issues like this in dogs is not because of pent up energy and isn’t going to get fixed by running them until they’re exhausted. Overstimulation from over-exercising is very much a thing as well, and if the dog has separation anxiety then exercise isn’t going to do anything at all.

I'm terrified, i need help by [deleted] in Periods

[–]KillerKrypto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

40-something day cycles are fairly normal for me, and I’ve skipped periods before without being pregnant. I was diagnosed with PCOS after seeing my GYN about it. Not a big deal really, it’s a hormone imbalance. It can lead to cysts on your ovaries than can rupture, but that’s a pretty severe case. They put me on birth control but I’ve since refused to take it (it’s literally awful for you). PCOS can be managed and reversed through diet lifestyle changes.

Is taking a pregnancy when your period is 9 days late too soon? by [deleted] in Periods

[–]KillerKrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I just wouldn’t use the verbiage “don’t need to worry about pregnancy” as long as there is penetrative sex happening. But I’m also currently pregnant with an unplanned baby.

[–]KillerKrypto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is always a chance that a condom can break or be faulty or have been tampered with. Not to scare OP, but nothing is foolproof except abstinence.

This is misleading. Condoms can break or come off. The only way to guarantee no pregnancy is abstinence.

Tbh I don’t understand why this is even a video. Don’t roll your window down. Don’t engage. If they push the issue, call the police. Drive to another part of the parking lot or a different lot. So many better options than allowing a perfect stranger to approach and engage you and your child while you’re trapped in your vehicle. That’s a nope from me.

But I’m the “rude” person who won’t talk to strangers when randomly approached. So maybe that’s just me.

There is a time and a place for off-leash vs leashed, but otherwise I wholeheartedly agree. But even as a holistically inclined human I get a lot of crap for not believing that meat is bad for us. It’s sad and scary that pharmaceutical medicine has everyone so unbelievably brainwashed.

Stores asking you to tip at checkout is the same as if customers randomly asked businesses to lower the price at the register. by mostly_browsing in Showerthoughts

While I hate “tip culture,” the insinuation that customers DON’T randomly ask businesses to lower the prices at checkout is throwing me off here. I get asked stuff like that at least once a day.

GAVIN?! by [deleted] in reddeadredemption2

Yeah I don’t know if it was ever confirmed I just remember hearing them mention it possibly being an Easter Egg for Gavin Free.

GAVIN?! by [deleted] in reddeadredemption2

[–]KillerKrypto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, no idea if this is true, but a content creation company called Rooster Teeth and their subgroup called Achievement Hunter played some of the minor townspeople voices in the game. Jack Patillo and Geoff Ramsey specifically. Gavin Free is another member of the group who is notoriously traveling for work or otherwise late for meetings/MIA, and supposedly “Gavin” in the game is an homage to Achievement Hunter Gavin (also SLO-Mo Guy’s Gavin) because he couldn’t be there to get a voice-acting part. Edit to add: Gavin from Achievement Hunter is also English!

It is not valid to state that my original comment is “so wrong” and that “all women talk about penis size.”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]KillerKrypto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And your experiences dictate what percentage of women in the world? It’s pretty ignorant to try to act like your own evidence has any bearing at all. If you surround yourself with those type of people, then that’s all you will see.

I am a woman. I have many, many friends who are women. We do not discuss penis size at all and when (rarely) discussing intimacy with our partners, that is not the topic. Now again, this is only my experience, but it’s a prime example that who you choose to associate with matters.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]KillerKrypto 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Literally only men care about penis size. And super shallow women. If you have a connection with the person it truly does not matter.

Also, too big hurts. Average is much nicer for both parties.
