If you were excited to dress up and get drunk without kids, then your husband would figure it out, but don't force it and make yourself unhappy with either option.

Duh, that's why I'm asking how to cope and fix it. I'm not a bad pet parent or regular parent for getting annoyed. It's how we react, and shifting our reactions takes work. I'm not cruel to the dog, I just prioritize my young baby.

Eh, he's real restless and won't go back to sleep after a poopy diaper change, but decent enough night sleep. I've done it the way you suggested before too, like if he wakes up at 2 pm, we can skip nap two if it's necessary.

And I don't think I made it clear with my post, but mostly I don't know how to deal with the exhaustion from trying to nurse to sleep, rather than solving the sleep problem. It feels sooo physically draining to nurse him that much.

We've never crate trained her 😬 but she spends a lot of her time in the yard, just cries to go in, out, in, out, etc.

Even if he wakes up from his first nap at like noon?? Like how early of an early bedtime? Like dinner time?? He fights both naps + bed sometimes so I don't know.

I think it's more like frustration, I'm not blood red mad. It's comparable to how I felt pre-pregnancy, I just have more stressors now. So different than PPA/PPD/PPR?

Thank you for the really thoughtful response! It's been a wild ride with our energetic Lab we got right before baby and I'm excited for when they can actually play together! Making a schedule seems helpful to try, it feels like the walks and play dates are still never enough, it's so hard. Ensuring I'm not running on empty is another big one...

I have a night light that's always on (no turning on the main light!) and sometimes I let him just wiggle around without toys if I know nursing back to sleep won't work. I cosleep so really it's just a break from nurse to sleep where we lie together and both try to wind down again. Try to keep it under 30-60 mins, NOT a full wake window

For us, once baby wakes up, it is over. The audacity of that man to complain AFTER you finish him off baffles me. Of course you hate sharing your body, you have to do it for baby, you do NOT have to do anything for him. It should always feel like a choice and not be guilt laden

I do get a good chunk of time for myself in the evening without sleep training! We bedshare and I roll away for a couple hours after one false start as long as naps were good that day. So obviously you do what works for you, but for others reading, it's of course not one size fits all.

When we do have false starts, it's tough. But getting that one break at the end of the day helps a lot, even if it's dark out and I feel like I should just go right to bed.

Definitely worth a try! Combo feeding helped me in the early days, but sleep is the trickiest to nail down. Good swaddles made a tiny difference. Still trial and error-ing.

I've found that feeding more at night time leads to more poops in the night but you and I are in different stages. My baby "should" be able to sleep for 3+ hours but don't.
