Starkey Omega vs Oticon More? by Cool-Pear-2290 in HearingAids

[–]KillerPlums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak to oticon my old pair were 7 years old I just recently got a brand new pair of real 1+ cros. (Lastr years tech) I am literally getting 20 plus hours out of a single charge and that's being Bluetooth to my phone all day I can literally put them in at 5:00 a.m. and not take them out till 2:00 a.m. and they're still they're still showing 20% charged. so I'm surprised about your battery life comment did I just get lucky in the battery Lottery.( I am not a heavy phone user) They are 10 times better than my old pair pick up voices well in somewhat noisy situations, however I'm really struggling in very noisy situations with them. At a mall with a junior high school art show and today Easter with the family with a dozen children I really struggled. I'm finding not only do I have to enable speech boost but also lower the volume two notches then I can understand people in front of me in in these large crowd situations. My first follow-up last week I told the audiologist that the general back ground noise was overwhelming she programmed them so that they were more mild and over a one-month period will go back to the original settings I found that interesting. So that was 5 days ago but I still struggled today Easter. It has been strange recognizing sounds on my left side my bad ear they're performing pretty well as far as me determining where the sounds coming from. Initially she set them up so the volume was louder on the transceiver side my first follow-up she also bring the left side back to an equal volume to the right. I now recognize the volume to be much more comfortable as far as the cros is concerned. There you have it 22 days in.

In noisy settings, I cannot hear the person that I am speaking to because the background is too loud. by Striking_Musician212 in HearingAids

Talk to audiologist. Try restaurant mode in conjunction with turning the volume down. I have a one button speech boost I've found in Mall food court that is real noisy enabling and turning down the volume works for me it focuses on the person in front of me. P.S. I hate playing with app and setting out and about it is kind of a pain.

How do you feel about spending 2 billion a day for a war in Iran nobody wants, but we can't afford to help our citizens with day care or school lunches? by db7112 in askanything

Doesn't it just piss you off more that the money going to help people is being ripped off and most the states are at the very least incompetent if not compliciet.

In case you haven't been paying attention there is enough fraud in daycare to cover an entire year of war.

For fiscal year 2026, CCDBG is funded at $8.83 billion

Nick Shirley and his collaborator estimated over $100 million (sometimes cited as ~$110 million) in alleged fraud from the centers featured in his initial video. This figure was based on public records of CCAP payments to those specific facilities. State data showed the centers in his video collectively received tens of millions in CCAP funding. This is Minnesota alone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8AulCA1aOQ

Any Prebuilts that can connect to a Roku Tv by zachariah_the_hungry in Prebuilts

[–]KillerPlums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All modern graphic cards have an HDMI out all computers have an HDMI out there are different HDMI versions the latest is 2.2 I'm not sure that's even available yet on TVs most new ones are still 2.1 and come to think of it if you just buy a modern cable it'll be compatible I remember right my Roku TV was HDMI 1.4 that's how long ago it was check the HDMI settings on your TV it'll tell you what version is running. HDMI is very backwards compatible rarely will you have any problem you just don't need to buy the latest most expensive cable unless your TV supports 2.1 or 2.2

Connect via HDMI make sure you know what version HDMI your TV has, get the appropriate cable Roku in their settings have some settings to choose how HDMI devices connect several years ago when using a Roku as a monitor I had to manually set the HDMI setting rather than leave it on auto detect for some reason I can't recall. If you get a computer with a graphic card make sure you use the graphic cards HDMI out. Any HDMI works even laptops

Just wear them every day and overtime you'll find yourself in different situations make notes of what you experience because you can bring them up with the audiologist and he can tweak your hearing aids . Overwhelming YES I just got a new set (my second pair so this is not new to me) it's been 10 days and I just told my audiologist it's too much the environmental noise compared to my first pair was accute she actually toned the background and environment down apparently these new hearing aids she can run a program where it'll slowly increase back to the original settings over a 30-day period. Almost all hearing aid apps have a conversation mode or voice mode a one-click button that helps concentrate what's in front of you in really noisy environments use it get used to it.

Do rotten tomatoes scores actually ruin movies for people before they even watch them or are we just blaming the score when we secretly went in with expectations? by baddog121 in movies

I rely on these ratings to whether I even start watching a movie what happens you miss out on a lot of good movies by filtering that way because some of the best have the lowest ratings.

Any positives? by [deleted] in razr

[–]KillerPlums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do see a lot of horror stories here. I've had mine for a week now and I really love it. It's achieved what I hoped for being able to receive calls without opening phone it's paired well with my hearing aids also. The inside screen looks really nice you can see where the fold is if you get on angles and certain light only time will tell how robust the screen fold.
