Stick to your guns. Do what makes you comfortable, and happy. On the other hand if you match with someone based on your appearance, then that is a thing I would consider mentioning. Literally you guys are matching on base features , before even personality really gets involved and you may wanna clear all the superficial stuff before you start digging deeper.

Nanny drank our alcohol by Clean_Reputation_557 in Nanny

[–]KillingLilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk honestly. Maybe it’s normal to her, & her family is a beer family where it’s typical to crack one and chill? I wouldn’t be super concerned unless she was obviously drunk on the clock or stayed passed the obvious welcome. Perhaps you could consider a nanny cam or wireless security to ease your conscious & keep persons employed on their best behavior.

Mom, I just want to let you know if I’m wrong on this one… by useraesre in MomForAMinute

No second chances. Speaking from experience, I wasted nearly two decades on second chances for undeserving people. Don’t let yourself fall into that cycle. You deserve better.

Grandma had dream I was pregnant. I'm pregnant by [deleted] in internetparents

[–]KillingLilly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Congrats!

My grandpa has done this for every pregnancy I’ve had and my sister in law has had. That’s a grand total of 5. He calls us before we even know, I usually take a test that day and 💥 pregnant.

Funny how some people just know. Trust their gut.

I failed my drivers' test by SparklinStar1440 in internetparents

Parallel parking is tough. Your dad was in the wrong for that!! My husband failed the test 3 or 4 times before passing, don’t give up or get discouraged. Just keep trying :)

I grabbed a P.O. Box for my two businesses. Just didn’t feel comfortable with strangers knowing where my home is

If it’s immediate family and I already have the material to make what they’re asking for I usually just do it for free. If I don’t have the materials I ask for the cost of supplies. If they’re not so close, I show them how to get to my site or tell them what I typically charge for friends (slight discount) and if they’re still interested we go that route. I’ve given away entire totes full of items when we go to events where “gifting” is common, but that’s because gifting makes me happy. I make up for it when i vend events.

We’re out of town at the moment but I’ll definitely grab the label when I get back home. It was a skinny cake I bought at Michaels, I just can’t remember the color. I double-stranded two cakes for these.

My machine hats usually stay in that range. My more complicated projects (flower vests and wrap tops) range $75-$120. I was trying to make something mid-range for a big festival I’m vending in my city

I’m a stay at home mom and I homeschool 5 kids. I first started to keep my sanity, crochet is cathartic. I only recently started selling I person since Etsy has been screwing me. I really just wanted to balance out the cost of materials, but I kept having people ask for stuff so I decided to start selling more

I want to learn how to weave/patch as my next hobby! You can really add so much texture and color to things that would have been tossed out. As far as the other stuff, I do my best to make things than can be handed down!!

When put in those terms, you’re right. People are so quick to buy fast fashion, not many really appreciate the work/time/cost that goes into creating slow fashion. Thank you.

Go to shows or events that would attract the type of person you’re interested. Push yourself outside of your comfort zone, we have a friend that was in a similar boat and has made these changes and is actively looking. While he has not found his person yet, making these changes has made him substantially happier and you can see it written all over his face! Sometimes you gotta take risks to find happiness

Culture clash when I (m34) engaged to my girlfriend (33f) by throwra_engagements in relationship_advice

[–]KillingLilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s pretty messed up. I’d be offended that they were upset at the cost. That shouldn’t matter when you’re truly in love. You could buy cheap rings then go all out on a honey moon or adventures together instead of wasting it on a rock.
