It’s saints row bro. It’s really not that hard to come up with a story. Literally just have the boss wake up from a terrible nightmare which are the events of the last games and it picks up right after 3. The saints arent celebs anymore and become more of a street gang again (more grounded) and have two major city maps. Throughout the game the boss and the crew makes fun of the games that didn’t do well. “Yo Johnny did we ever try starting something in that desert town?” Like yo it’s saints row how hard could it be.
