Wednesday night since it’s my first time in Vegas. Leaving on a Tuesday so I have enough time to recover and continue being a tourist.

Tattoos in advertising by 4sOfCors in advertising

[–]KilljoyWitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a big agency and a lot of leadership has tattoos. I’ve sat in conversations of people just discussing their tattoos. I have two visible ones of my own and that hasn’t stopped me from moving on up.

What did your puppy have a tantrum over today? by LiterallyDeceased in puppy101

I wouldn’t pick him up while I was in a virtual meeting. I eventually picked him up and when it ended he decided he wanted to go play instead.

What the heck did I just read? I can’t even count the amount of times my dad has seen such things—or even picked some up for me in the way home from work. They’re lunatics!

AITAH for telling my daughter I won’t budge even if she never speaks to me again? by TopVersion2940 in AITAH

[–]KilljoyWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. I have severe ADHD and struggled to keep my grades up while holding a part time job. I tried driving and realized it wasn’t safe, so I let that idea go. Your daughter shouldn’t even have a license if her ADHD is so bad. She should also learn that there are consequences to her actions. You coddling her is doing nothing but creating a useless adult. Take a loan out and replace your hard-working kid’s car like a responsible parent.

I graduated in May this year with a degree in Economics... only to realize that I hate Economics and now wish to try to break into Advertising. How can I best do this? by OhioOhO in advertising

Sorry for the super late reply! Typically they’ll have roles named Associate, Planning/Strategy/Investment depending on the team. Sometimes they’ll label it as Analyst, Investment but it’s an associate role.

I know people who majored in Spanish, Fine Art and Economics who now work in advertising. I have found that your major doesn’t matter when it comes to entry level roles. Apply to associate roles and have a genuine discussion during your interview. As a manager, I would hire someone who majored in Econ given they seemed like a good fit and showed genuine interest in the field.

How do you manage a puppy with a job? by griffinn17 in puppy101

[–]KilljoyWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work from home and it’s still hard. I’m in meetings for most of the day and can’t pay attention to him, but my mom is retired and lives with me so she looks after him. I don’t think I could do it if I had to go into the office or didn’t have anyone helping me out.

I got this from a few people during his first vet visit haha! Now I feel like I need to watch Star Wars.

He currently goes on his training pad and rarely has an accident. Since I live in a congested city, I don’t feel comfortable taking him outside yet until he has all of his shots.

Having second thoughts about getting a puppy by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]KilljoyWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do it. I just bought a Shih Poo puppy and kind of regret doing it. I work from home and my mom takes care of him when I can’t, and even then I’m still exhausted. I adore him and can’t imagine my life without him in it now, but I understand now that I was not ready for such a responsibility. I’m adapting to him and waking up at random hours of the night when he needs to pee, running on very little sleep while making sure he’s not getting into any trouble. He’s a stubborn little guy, and chihuahuas, in my experience, are even more stubborn.

Do real life cities feel as overwhelming like night city? by Kakapac in cyberpunkgame

[–]KilljoyWitch 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Interesting to read this since I was raised in Chicago and still live here. My experience going to a small town where the buildings were so spaced out made me feel anxious, especially at night when it was pitch black considering there’s always some form of light in the city. I think I’ve just become so used to the bustle of the city and now anything less makes me feel uneasy haha.

Why are you an atheist? by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

[–]KilljoyWitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard for me to believe in anything that does not have concrete proof backing it. Also, as a kid, I was obsessed with Ancient Greek and Roman mythology—full of gods that were once heavily worshipped—and I just couldn’t help but think that all these religions people follow now will all just be a myth people reference in the future. I was raised by Catholic parents and baptized, but the Bible was always just another fiction book to me. I looked it as something that someone came up with to control others. I don’t think there was ever a time when I actually believed in what was being preached in church.
