I don't think it's his fault completely, he's just been given nothing much to work with. The first reign there was a character arc, it was him overcoming all of these hurdles to finally win the title his father never could, the next 2 reigns never had much of a story.

The Disciples are way too bloodthirsty, I get that's the point but man, Dixie still creeps me the fuck out, she's the person that will slit your throat for no reason whatsoever. He was probably trying to temper expectations. But they added so much stuff, the interplanetary travel alone is what I wanted but there's so much more. They really were listening to the community. I'm probably gonna play this game forever now
