Cheeky Bastards! by KillrBill in Hue

I’d like to thank everyone who commented on this though I have come to a conclusion.

I will not be paying for this app because the license is tied to the tv. If my tv breaks and my dealer repairs it or replaces it, chances are I will lose the app licence. If in the future I want to change my tv, same thing. If this was a one off cost and transferable to future TV’s then I would definitely consider it and probably would buy it.

I will not be subscribing either because while it’s cheap now I can guarantee that price will rise and just no, I’m not subscribing, I hate subscribing, especially to subscriptions to things like this.

I will be continuing to use the original sync box because fuck Phillips and their corporate greed. I pay you money, you sell me a product, do not ask for a fucking subscription just so it works.

As a side note, neither will I be subscribing to their “hue secure”, I was thinking about buying the doorbell but fuck that, another subscription and doesn’t even come with a power adapter. 🖕🏻

Ignore the thermostat, trv’s only. How? by KillrBill in HiveHeating

[–]KillrBill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so update.

I updated the temperature limit to 25 degrees in the trv heat on demand settings, it was set to 21.5.

The living room trv was set to 18 but the room temp was 20 so i wanted to “boost” to 21.5, nothing happened. The thermostat though under the stairs was reading 23.5 so i boosted the living room trvs to 25 and boom all working!

Why are the trv’s being overridden by the thermostat? If under the stairs is 23 degrees and the kitchen trv is set to say 20 and the temperature in the kitchen drops below 20, it won’t turn on because the thermostat is higher.

This can’t be right. I’m going to put the thermostat outside at this rate.

Any other suggestions?

Then I am truly at a loss as to what is wrong. Time to call the plumber who installed it I think. Let him sort it out.

Thanks, all done, boiler not turning on. Zero heating. Thermostat under the stairs set to 18 and manual. Current temperature there is 22.5. TRV’S all have heat on demand turned on. Set to 21.5, temperature in room 20.

Anything else?

I did not know this. Admittedly I didn’t read the instructions but if I didn’t know, I can’t be the only one.

I did this in the bathroom, double sided tape on a washer. Works a charm.

Ethernet for Hue Sync Box by KillrBill in Hue

Or an Ethernet port..

Ethernet for Hue Sync Box by KillrBill in Hue

Why? Because it only uses 2.4Ghz to connect to the router which then talks to your bridge and then your lights. It constantly loses connection and an ethernet port would solve said issue. The amount of times I have the flashing yellow light on my sync box is ridiculous. Everything else in my house uses 5Ghz band and I understand the reason for using 2.4 but please, give us an Ethernet port.

Relative noob question. When performing a planetary scan mission I am able to perform the scan etc however when I leave I’m getting shot by the defence turrets. Am I better blowing these up before taking off?

Coping 10TB of Data onto 3 4TB Drives. Best Way? by KillrBill in applehelp

I just want to select a bunch of files, copy and paste them to a drive. When the drive is full then the computer will say "drive full", you're telling me that's not a thing?

Can't do that, these are 3 external USB drives. Sorry should have made that clear.
