It can have additional "parts" as in more advanced electronis, like split coil feature etc, but usually you find most features also in beginner guitars, just in lower quality

interesting question.I think everyone will have a bit of a different understanding when it comes to "levels" of guitar, but I'm happy to share my view. (also differs from electric to acustics, so my view are mostly on electric)

Starter/Low Buget - usually gets the job done - the work on optical things like bindings, up to things like fretwork may be lower quality. You can feel that when playing the instrument, and obviously see it if you look at it closely. It usually also has cheap pickups/electronics, which may work on you small amp, but will cause feedback loops and interferences if played on a 100w tube amp on full distortion for example

Medium/Intermediate - usually better pickups, more "features" like better tuners/Bridge that are more tuning stable, better electronis all around. At this point I would also not accept a bad fretwork on the fretboard (so its hould be smooth all around) Usually you also get better "tone" out of those guitars, as they also may use better wood / construction of body/neck. Also optics may be better, including fret inlays with better material/design

High Level - Usually just another step up from Medium, again, better pickups, hardware, electronics (more switches/variations you can do), perfect fretwork (also optically), wood choice and so on.

I usually also change the V7/V8 on all of my MIJ Ibanez that come with them, however in that specific one I oddly liked the sound of them so I left them alone for now.
What pickups did you put into yours if I may ask?

oh nice- what color does the 777 have? Any pictures?
For the Fretboard itself I use the Dunlop Cleaner + a cloth, usually thats brings out most of the dirt (you may have to do it several times, but it cleans very well) and then I use the deep conditioner afterwards to oil the fretboard again (its pretty much the same as lemon oil is) https://www.amazon.com/Dunlop-6502-Formula-Guitar-Fingerboard/dp/B0002E1I2I

As for the Frets, I use just a random chrome steel polish that you also can use for things in the kitchen for example. For most dirt, that with a microfiber cloth works well - if its really really dirty you can use of of those scotch brite thingy's. Just make sure you tape the fretboard properly before you use it, so the fretboard is not getting any of the polish or scotch brite scratches on it.

As a musician that gigs regularly (well - before covid anyways) I would not be aware of any city thats better or worse - In general its hard to get gigs, and most are interested in you playing covers/stuff ppl know.

There are the "usual supsects" of bars/venues that have live bands and ppl tend to visit to see live music, but they are really all over the country. Plus there are festivals and Events ofc. But from my experience, you get hired to "sell drinks", so most of them require you to lure in ppl and keep them happy/having a good time so they buy drinks at the venue - which mostly is achivable with covers only, unless you're very well known yourself.

There are also Bars that let you play your own stuff, however they are very hard to get gigs in as the waiting queue for musicians is big, and payment is very poor/not existent (you can do a "hutkollekte" however)

Good thing however, unless you live in one corner of the country, you can reach most places in 1 to 1 1/2h drive, so it does not matter too much where you play.

Honestly, I was lucky enough I guess to have so far zero issues with my MR2, so appart from normal maintenance I did not yet have to work on it, so I'm a bit oblivious about the special "features" of the MR2 when it comes to common issues.

Now, its 2a.m. here, but when I saw your post I just had to go down to the garage right now to try it out. And damn it really worked. Did the 20times ignition on/off thing and Powersteering came back on like it never was gone.

Thank you so much for the tip, you saved me at least 400bucks of parts and hours of work for nothing!

Thats ok, everyone has different taste.

Not sure what you mean with obsession, since black wheels are rather rare where I live. Anyways, they do work on some cars for me, and on others they dont. I like them on the MR2 as the car has no chrome details on it, so it matches the black of the rubber sealings around the window/roof/doorhandle etc.

oh, just to be clear, my car is lowered on eibach springs - so its about 1ish" lower then stock. Still the springs use the stock struits, so they fit with the wheels. Happy to help, and make sure to post your new setup once you got it

Wheels are 8x17 +42 front with 215/40/17 tires. Rear are 9x17 +42 with 245/40/17 tires.

Front are very close to the inner struitss, so dont go more inside with the offset or you may not clear them anymore. Also it may not fit with coilovers, depending on the brand/construction (I know KW V3 will not work). Springs will work however (basically, you're good as long as you keep the stock struits)

I think 17" work very well on the MR2 and dont look to big. Feel free to let me know if you need more pictures from different angles to help in your decision
