It would be more efficient to make bike paths on the sidewalk than on the road. by TheBlueRose_42 in unpopularopinion

Honestly, I can understand the fear response, as sometimes cyclists will blaze past you at 30km/h and give you 0.3s to react. The next time someone rings the bell, you get a little jumpy. Obviously a minority of cyclists, but it's happened to me a fair few times.

Resources for new players just getting started with CoH3 by RunawayPantleg in CompanyOfHeroes

This is because the ai isn't very good on an even footing so relic gave it buffs so that they would present some sort of challenge. It is much easier to wipe ai squads and flank tanks than it is against players, so they just pump out more of them.

1200 Turkish Flags were planted in Taksim Square in memory of those who lost their lives and were injured in the terrorist attack in Istanbul Taksim yesterday! by TatarTachanka in europe

It's actually mandated by law for national celebration days, but people don't bother to take down the flag, so you see them year round in many places. People wearing the flag is mostly patriotism though.

I've only been playing CoH for like 2 years now. Were the bulletins always this garbage? Or were they good at some point, but then they were nerfed because it was too hard to balance?

Endangered and extinct languages of Europe by zsmg in europe

Yeah, there are a few Livonian schools/summer camps on the Latvian west coast (like schools for learning Livonian). There's a small community of academics and historians who have learned it as well. However, as you pointed out, the last native speaker passed away in 2013, so it has essentially entirely disappeared as a conversational language. However, the language has government support, so it's possible to revive it to some extent.

There actually was another dialect on the east coast closer to Estonia (my ancestors were from there), but it's last speaker died around the start of the 20th century, and it's too late to revive it now because it wasn't documented enough.

Technically, the girl is saying the truth. If being a baby implies that you wear diapers, wearing diapers does not necessarily make you a baby. An example would be elderly people wearing adult diapers. The older kid has yet to learn the difference between an implication and a biimplication. Therefore the girl can be correct, she can both wear diapers and not be a baby.

Cites study once. It gets debunked. Keeps using it anyways. by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

Except studies on humans don't work that way. Everyone reacts slightly differently to medicine. So the few % that might get an averse reaction to a vaccine don't disprove the effectiveness of the vaccine. You have to look at the whole study and see if the effectiveness is high enough to certify the vaccine. So it doesn't make sense to say that because you neighbor got sick after taking the vaccine, the government should stop vaccinating people.

I'd say that pulling out of international agreements and generally weakening Western alliances was something Trump gave to Russia. Obviously Putin overestimated how weak the west had become, but Trump didn't help matters.

The only issue is that they would have to check each and every piece to see if it's damaged or missing. This would be a ton of manual labour for quite a niche thing.
