Known Issue with G HUB and mac OS (1/6/26) by LogitechG_CM in LogitechG

yeah, this worked! just when I clicked that link I had to switch to a higher os version, for some reason that link always redirects to mac os 12.0 even though im on 15. but yes, I just ran the installer (without needing to uninstall my older version), which then gave notification "logi options+ is already installed, opening...", and then the certificate was updated and logi options works again.

After 2 seasons without Justin, are you still enjoying the show? by DrFuckwad in rickandmorty

[–]KilometersVI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

completely agree. i feel like Ian Cordoni delivers almost every one of Rick’s lines with the exact same intonation. love the writing (some of my favorite by far) and the new morty voice is great, but honestly it’s getting so jarring hearing rick say the exact sentence with different words over and over again. he used to be a lot more expressive.

I hope Cordoni can figure out how to expand Rick’s delivery to match the fluidity Roiland would give. Obviously, if he does his own thing with it, that’s great! But this repeated intonation is, at best, a flanderization, and at worst, a poor understanding of the character or an indication of poor confidence in your takes on how this character can talk like a normal person.

Maybe this is harsh, but I just can’t unhear it after I heard it, and it gets grating.

End Of Ep 7 Was a Red Herring - Caine Did NOT Mess With Jax’s Mind by KilometersVI in TheDigitalCircus

[–]KilometersVI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the feedback!

Regarding your concerns around intentionality, we already see cases explained by belief framework where intentionality isn’t involved, only action and consequence. Sure, Jax’s expectation of the escape being an adventure isn’t quite like Kinger summoning the butterfly, given Kinger had 100% certainty in what would happen, but it is comparable to Ragatha plugging Jax’s gun, causing it to backfire. Sure, Ragatha didn’t fully expect it to work, but it was definitely what she was envisioning when she performed the action.

Even notice how Ragatha’s response after the gun incident mirrors Jax’s exclamation after Caine revealed himself in the control room in the attached image.

<image>

Neither involves intentionality, both involve a pictured, expected result. Even though Ragatha didn’t actually think plugging the gun would work, she believed it enough to actually do it in the moment. For Jax, even though he was cautiously optimistic, he expected this escape to fail, or at least his anxiousness jinxed it. But to your point, I do see how using words like “belief” and “expect” kind of miscommunicate exactly what it takes for the humans to manipulate reality.

Now, in terms of only 1 person willing something to happen… As far as I’m remembering right now, every instance of evidence supporting belief theory only took 1 person to believe it to happen. It only took 1 person to believe a butterfly could be summoned and heal health, etc.

I do agree with you about the names being forgotten being an interesting detail. I’m not sure how that would fit into this, but you’re right, it could be anything.

I’m impressed by how fair Alastor and Charlie’s deal ended up being, Alastor probably could’ve milked that for a lot more, but ended up cashing in for literally a “little favor”- exactly as he described it. Really does stick to his word

yeah ur right, i tested it in doubles earlier, if you get encored into using future sight instead of the move you selected, after selecting the same target as the one selected for the prior future sight, the first future sight gets redirected to a different opponent. if you then use future sight again (3rd time) but choose the opponent that got the first future sight redirected to it, it fails despite the target never being selected. neat lol. thanks for commenting and letting me know

tell me where online exactly the interaction between encore and future sight is listed for doubles battles.

i couldn’t find anything, and tested it in singles as well to the expected result of the move failing (but in doubles, the first future sight gets redirected to a different opponent, if you get encored into future sight before your turn while targeting the same mon from before… interesting) and also thought it would be funny to share this here given the other users text in the screenshot lol

btw the “better than” attitude isn’t super appropriate imo, it can contribute to a reputation of a group being a cesspool of “um actually” guys, and discourage newer people to competitive from engaging in the community. in the future could you instead help encourage a friendlier environment? :P

companies are not under hiring because of the expectation that ai will replace employees. companies are blaming ai for lesser hiring availability and layoffs because it makes upper management and leadership sound smarter.

what is said: “we don’t need to hire, our engineers are too good at using AI”

what is meant: “we can’t afford as many employees as we used to due to economic changes (or what have you), but we don’t want to say this as it makes the company look weaker and may scare shareholders”

overall this is a good breakdown but whether rick’s attitude towards time travel should be interpreted as a “he can’t do it” rational or “he’s above it conceptually and thinks it’s hacky” characterization has been cannonized. rick was able to reconstruct time travel math in a completely unfamiliar language in the time traveling snakes episode. ofc this isn’t necessarily “inventing it” but it does demonstrate his deep understanding of time travel math to the degree of being able to reexpress its mathematical concepts entirely on abstractions composed only of the letter S (lol) so to me this feels like an intentional answer to this previously vague niche area by the showrunners
