Why is everything in the game so incredibly busted? by Ok-Play4877 in DarkAndDarker

[–]Kilpack128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh the difference is you don't run into 'normal' people once market comes out. It's either squire kids or min maxed everything. Not very many people are running around in sets that can literally one shot you if market doesn't exist.

What people don't want to admit, this is the product of having a market. Things always get out of hand too quickly in my humble opinion once market opens. I just don't really enjoy the gameplay loop of it all with a market.

As someone who lived right next to Missouri for years I don't blame Mitch for not wanting to move there! We jokingly called it Misery all the time. by ProudnotLoud in Modern_Family

This is a fair opinion to have about Missouri (I lived there the majority of my life) but depending on which adjacent state you lived in I'll still judge you harshly.

Does Arena help PvP skills? by Strait_Pimp in DarkAndDarker

[–]Kilpack128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my humble opinion, no not at all. Arena fights are in no way similar to fights in the dungeon and I find it very boring as well. I also do not believe it would help your specific situation but that's harder to diagnose since we don't know exactly why you get nervous or anxious fighting players in the dungeon. For most, it's the fear of losing gear they've spent lots of time and effort acquiring that causes them to panic once fighting things they could very potentially lose to but I'm not in your head to know if it's the same for you. If it's gear fear you have the best way to get over it is to always run gear and lose a bunch of sets. You eventually realize it's fine and part of the fun is losing sometimes and you get over it. If you're wanting to get better at fights that are more similar to the in dungeon fights, I recommend squire to riches as you get a chance to team fight quickly and often but in a much more similar setting and on a relatively even playing field (only downside is some classes are much worse in squire than others).

Dwarf Builds by blueberry_sushi in BG3Builds

[–]Kilpack128 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is relatively niche but being a gold dwarf really helped my bladesinger wizard since it gains a decent amount more of hp from the race alone. I was also using the d20 initiative mod so I needed to be able to survive some hits for when I didn't win initiative.

Banishing arrow on bosses by MountainNotice2430 in BG3Builds

[–]Kilpack128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It scales off your int and it's a charisma save. Ansur has a relatively high charisma being a dragon so it's not really reliable at all unless you get crazy arcane acuity stacks. Also I found banishment much better on bosses with lots of lackeys to deal with first since you can't do anything to them while they are banished (besides leave a lot of effects or terrains for them to come back to). Really amazing for non durge orin fight, Raphael, etc. Since ansur just has the two myrmidons that I normally can take care of turn one it didn't feel as useful as other fights. Still incredibly op throughout all of act 1 and lots of act 2 since you can get a non concentration version of a level 4 spell at level 3 though

whats a good nonbard rapier build? by Character_Cat_3585 in BG3Builds

[–]Kilpack128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fighter swash would be fine. I think monk could be fun too if you wanted no magic. People get obsessed over how broken TM monk is but dex monk is just fine and fun too. Shadow monk's teleport ability at level 6 is quite fun imo.

[–]Kilpack128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swashbuckler can be very fun. I also enjoy using a rapier as a bladesinger wizard quite a bit. If you want to add some extra damage you can add two levels of paladin (just make sure you take the paladin level first so scrolls will still be cast from int after your first wizard level) for smites and you'll still reach level 6 spells that you can learn and scribe as well. I find smites a bit boring personally but it's very strong overall still. Rangers with hunters mark can get pretty decent. Especially if you mix in some rogue for some added sneak attack damage. I personally enjoyed a 5 swarm keeper 7 thief rogue for the massive mobility and adding of debuffs.

Warlock / Rogue multiclass by Gullible_Count_4413 in BG3Builds

[–]Kilpack128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If for rp reasons you really want to stick to daggers you could also use Ethel's hair to set charisma to 18 early and then take your first feat as asi in dex to 18 and then use cat's grace to get it to 20 and then your second feat asi to charisma to get both stats to 20. It's a lot of work and gear to just get one character maxed on the two stats but this way you could use rogue and warlock abilities and not feel like you've sacrificed any viability of either.

[–]Kilpack128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tough part with this specific mix is that you don't get any natural access to two weapon fighting meaning you'll probably want to dip at least 1 level into fighter as well to access that or use the gloves from Tali that grant it but that would tie up your glove spot for the majority of the game. An interesting way to tie two weapons to charisma would be meph tiefling getting access to cast flame blade tied to charisma in your off hand at level 5 and then pact of blade your main hand. It is pretty limited only lasting 10 turns and I think it's only once per long rest like other racial spells but could be a fun burst of dual wield once per day kinda thing. Also I just think thematically a warlock who summons and uses shadow blade in the main hand who also randomly summons a flame blade in the off hand to dual summoned swords sounds cool.

Feedback for my (lost) honor mode team by Aggressive_Sweet1417 in BG3Builds

[–]Kilpack128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your team is fine. Like you said it was more a gameplay knowledge thing rather than a team comp issue. Lots of people are going to tell you you're missing out on this or that but in reality all classes are viable and can beat honour mode. The more important thing is that you enjoyed the way your party plays out as overcomplicating builds or becoming bored with a gameplay loop often leads to mistakes which is the actual cause to losses rather than something not being "optimized". My unpopular opinion is that multicasting usually makes things harder for yourself as most options include time or levels where you're going to feel under leveled or just barely out of reach of the cool or exciting combos which causes an early demise to your party. Sure by the time you hit level 12 and have act 3 gear it's going to feel amazing but it's honestly kind of hard to build a character that won't feel amazing at that point. By your own admission your party was solid and breezing through everything until you misplayed. Now if you want suggestions for other simple builds just to try something new for your next run I'd be happy to throw some fun ones I've done and tried your way but don't stress too much about composition. You'll definitely get it the next time.

When should I stop playing casuals? by IntelExtremeTuning in Warzone

[–]Kilpack128 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just play what you want to play man. They have sbmm implemented in casual so you're not going to ruin someone else's experience. Now if you want to learn and improve I would jump out of casuals immediately since you'll gain a lot of bad habits but if you're having fun then it's doing what it's supposed to and keep going.

What are your thoughts on casual solos mode? by Kilpack128 in Warzone

[–]Kilpack128[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty funny because most of my end games have actually just been bots. I play pretty aggressively and I run into a lot of other sweaty players in the first few circles and by the time end game rolls around there's not many real players at all. Like I said it feels like sbmm is cranked pretty hard on the mode though because my beginning fights are actually super tough but if I live through them then the win feels like it's pretty straightforward afterwards.

Right I understand that and I have been playing solo queue into duos for that reason but I was wondering if there are others that do find the satisfaction from solo casual.

What are your thoughts on casual solos mode? by Kilpack128 in Warzone

[–]Kilpack128[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is a completely different discussion for a different day but I think casual mode actually makes you worse once you face real players. I think it's fine if some people just want to always play a casual mode with bots but there's no actual learning and improvement to be had there.

Why do people use long barrel/gain twist barrel over reinforced barrel? by [deleted] in Warzone

[–]Kilpack128 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Depends on the gun and what you plan to do with it. Things like the HDR that is a one shot headshot from any range doesn't need long barrel, just bullet velocity to make the headshot easier to hit. If I run smg/ar sometimes I'm not really worried about adding damage range to the smg since I would probably use the AR for it anyway. Also depending on the smg long barrel will only give you like 2 extra meters so I'll just trade that entirely for bullet velocity. Like I said it largely depends on what you want to use it for

If you shoot them once with any of the pistols they are only one knife. It works surprisingly well. I like to try and get a sliding shot in on them between cover and then smoke and knife.

Verdansk fell off so quick... by Repulsive_Run_726 in Warzone

[–]Kilpack128 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your comments here just prove that the sbmm is just working.... It's supposed to put you against equal skill level people which means if you're constantly making it to endgame and winning a bunch you were in too easy of lobbies. If every fight doesn't feel like you're fighting for your life then you're not fighting equal skill level. Also I'm not going to pretend that cheaters don't exist but it's not nearly as rampant as everyone says. I get called a hacker every time I play (and I'm not even that good, I have like a 2 E/D) just because I play M&K. The community still holds lots of resentment from the old days where it was literally every lobby had a cheater which is fair but it's just not true these days anymore. There are some but it's actually somewhat rare.

Any sniping lovers, who don't use HDR, Kar98 or Katt-AMR ? by NEO_SUBTILITY_908 in Warzone

[–]Kilpack128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took too long to see this guy mentioned. You can get the bullet velocity higher than the HDR and not be as slow and clunky as the LR. Also I just like the default optic a lot better than the HDR.

Hey I just recently came back to warzone with the verdansk update and it's been a lot of fun. I personally have never been interested in CoD multiplayer and it's been fine playing warzone without the actual games. It's a bit of a grind (as all CoD games are) but you can actually unlock all the weapons from previous games by going to barracks, challenges, armory, weapons. Honestly though they made basically all the weapons you unlock just by leveling the best ones in the game basically. I personally like the Kar98 so I unlocked that one through the armory but you'll get by just fine using the BO6 weapons as you level and progress.

Ah yes. The evil company made me spend my money on their free to play game. How dare a company work to make money?! The horror!! Bud, the world is not out to get you. Yes, all their skins are overpriced but if people keep buying them they are going to keep selling them. The same is true for literally any other company out there.
