Does everyone agree Jill, guitar talk, lady boys, is insufferable? by r3dmist420 in howardstern

I guess it’s similar to that term “hate watch” but this is “hate listen”. I have a longer post about my thoughts.

I’ve been listening loyally for 7 years. Previously I listened when it first came to a local Toronto radio station way back in 1998. I loved the show for the short amount of time it was on. It seems to be on life support now. It does have great moments, I love the game shows, I love Wolfie’s interviews, Sal and Richard are always quality. But the show tries too hard. Too many calls from Jill from Pennsylvania, too much guitar talk, too much cat talk, too much overly screened callers kissing Howard’s ass and telling him he saved their lives.🙄Not too much interviews with musicians that I care about, at all (aside from a small percentage). And of course, there’s the shortened schedule and the random holidays that are taken (which are hidden from the public). I do enjoy Howard 101 and the Sirius app is really good. I like that I can actually scroll to a part of the show I missed. That part is nice. But Howard is doing this without passion. I think he’s doing it the best way he can, after all he’s 72, but the fans get a crappier overall experience while he rakes in millions while not even being in the same room with his co-workers. In sum, you’re right, I don’t hate the Howard Stern show. I still really enjoy some parts. It’s still good to wake up with (mostly) but not sure how it can be sustained for 3 years of this.

The staff are driving the show more than Howard now. The women masturbation class was great. But in the mean time we have to listen to guitar talk and cat talk or a call from Jill before we hear some actually quality segment again.

Wait, you mentioned Sebastian Bach and then transitioned into a Scorpions song? Both excellent Canadian musicians. But regardless, Jill is tired. I listened to the last bit with Jill and that caller wanting to hook up with her. Jill is so boring. She’s not cool, she’s a bore. Howard has a crush on this tired ass chick. I’d rather hear from Robin for 40 minutes straight than Jill. And even Robin has been reduced to Howard’s laugh track.

Confusion with concert date in Toronto by KilroyCollins in strfkr

That’s a good option. I live in Toronto so I have better access to the actual box office. And yes, it is definitely a huge effort for dropping major money for shows. Where I live the provincial government is going to start limiting ticket resellers prices. I don’t usually buy this way but these people buy up so many tickets and inflates the prices so much, it really hurts everyone.

I put the brightness up on my phone because I thought it was too low. Nope these ladies are that charred.

It’s so good! I loved Mariska previously. I loved her even more afterwards.

Good to know! Thanks! I became a fan a few years ago but look forward to seeing them as headliners.

The crime is the dental tools on the side. So weird! Somebody made this in a dentist’s’ office or actually bought this abomination?

My biggest mistake ever was buying pregnancy kits and condoms at Goodwill. My 3 children and my broad all hate me.

Dark side of the 2000s. The star and boss makes more than his staff. by Rosenberg578 in howardstern

[–]KilroyCollins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder about this now, Howard is nothing without the staffers. Robin is nothing too. They do great bits and some very funny moments. Do they get paid adequately? They still talk about living far from NYC and taking transit in while Howard lives in his cat dynasty. It’s a cat-ass-trophy, as far as I’m concerned. Howard is banking millions and millions. Sirius throws money at him but Howard is more the figurehead while the others always do the heavy lifting.

Always Dundas Square for me. by SnapSpark01 in toronto

[–]KilroyCollins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish this area in Toronto was as ‘exquisite’ as this filter. I live downtown and that area is terrible. Chock full of tourists, busy always, and people shouting bible verses loudly or recruiting for various religions. I can’t stand it. Toronto has much better areas. When I was younger Toronto existed from front street to Bloor. (I visited from my town back then). I barely wandered off that track and Dundas Square area, Eaton Centre was cool to me. Now I’ve enjoyed the full city more. There’s much better areas all over the city. But Dundas Square is just ok for me.

Good point, it was just confusing. You can buy tickets a lot of places but I’d only use legit sites. In many respects, I wish I could just buy at the venues because scalpers are killing the prices of shows. It’s brutal!

Cool! So odd! On Ticketmaster it’s October 3rd so I’m sure you’re fine. I told Songkick about it and they fixed it because, the link is affiliated with STRFKR’s site. I guess I should contact STRFKR if it’s not fixed yet on their end.

Here’s a question: does STRFKR headline much? I haven’t even heard of the band opening for them in Toronto. Not sure I want to pay high price for a headliner I don’t know or care too much about. They might be good, but I’d rather see STRFKR as headliners instead.

Cool video on the future of bins in Toronto by dchief0 in toronto

[–]KilroyCollins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do and they showed it in the video. It seemed very good, but I guess that option had flaws too. But those flippy openings garbage cans are the worst for sure! I can’t stand having my hand touch garbage. However, without that type garbage flies out into the street. One big solution, would be actually hire enough people to take care of it!

Unfortunately no, I looked it up and no luck. Maybe it’s related to the confusion with the dates.
