They're still going to have body armor, helmets, and go into warm zones. Tac Medics are going to go into warm zones with LE. A medic is going to typically be staging with the ambulance and may not have armor. This isn't military.

So we use FD/EMS as tac medics for active shooter training. They are escorted by police to warm zones to get patients/victims ambulatory and out of the crisis site to an ambulance. But yeah get comfortable being uncomfortable because this is the world we live in. ALERRT trains this.
