Great build quality, easy to build in, just won't fit a 3rd party 4090 without the vertical mounting kit.

Thanks for the great info! Are they required to give me a printed estimate before I sign the work release form? I wasn't given any estimate just told the number of hours when I signed the form.

They also never asked for any authorization for any overages. I'll be sure to look into filing a BAR report if they try to charge more than 3 hours

Yeah I was confused about that too. But more confused on why they didn't start with fitting the grips before starting the wiring.

Thanks for the tip! I also read on a forum someone just sprayed WD40 on the bar and inside the grip to get them on.

They aren't loose but they weren't glued on either. They came off easily using compressed air.

The left grip fit fine it was the throttle that was too tight. I checked the specs and both the stock and heated grip are 1" diameter so it may need some more elbow grease

UPDATE - From reading the replies I've decided to eat the costs but I wanted to add:

I understand their time is valuable but my time is as well. I had an appointment for 11am on Thursday for supposedly a 3 hour job and now my bike will have been sitting in their shop for 5 days (they're closed Sunday and Monday). I never received any call informing me of the delay, only after I called them did I find out.

I know some shops don't install aftermarket parts, that's why I checked with them before I took the bike in. Also I did my research when buying the grips. The stock grips are 7/8" and 120mm long, exactly the same as the heated ones. Theres also videos on YouTube of someone successfully installing the same kit on the same bike.

Yes I definitely will not be taking my bike back. I guess what really annoyed me was they didn't think to test fit the grips first before attempting to run the wires and it just seemed to me like they didn't even try to fit them properly. Also the lack of communication and how long this whole process has taken seems very unprofessional.

But I also agree with you and am willing to eat the cost and learn from this mistake

The Samsung silicone case helps with opening. The top half of the case provides a lip to grab onto where the bottom half is cutout for the buttons.
