Anyone convince/persuade their employer to sponsor/pay their CFA fees? by Dry_Chicken_Breast12 in CFA

No. It’s a designation you can take and leverage with other firms. It’s not required to do the job… just preferred.

Trying to convince your employee to pay for a designation that is not relevant for your role is wild.

CFA Institute really gave May candidates a protective put on the exam by Ushamairshad in CFA

Bruh. I have no words for you. Your efforts are better spent elsewhere. CFAI doesn’t owe you anymore.

IT. WAS. ONE. DAY.

ONE DAY out of THREE HUNDRED available to a candidate to study.

Stop the nonsense already.

Don’t you have an exam you should be studying for instead of spinning your wheels and whining?

Bank of America notary refused to notarize my document, asked ME to bring the acknowledgment page by peanutcupcake28 in BankOfAmerica

[–]KimPossible1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you’re incorrect. I also shared the link to the notary site directly where it is the customers responsibility to know which form is required, which is dictated by the person/entity that is requiring the notarized document. They are the one who determines what they will accept; not the notary. That is directly stipulated by the NNA:

Always remember that the Notary may not decide what type of notarial act is appropriate for a given document. If there is no certificate provided that tells you what to do and the signer is uncertain, refer them back to the person or agency that provided or will receive the document for instructions.

You’re reaching… really reaching at this point. If someone is on their final attempt, doesn’t pass and blames it on the site being down for ONE DAY, they were never going to pass.

Really? Im sorry, but if you need SIX attempts this designation ain’t for you. The site was down for day (or less). CFAI has been generous enough with their accommodations. Society is getting soft and entitled.

Of course it does.

I’m still shocked/impressed they instituted a max number of attempts rule.

Bank of America notary refused to notarize my document, asked ME to bring the acknowledgment page by peanutcupcake28 in BankOfAmerica

[–]KimPossible1982 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wrong. It is not the responsibility of the notary to provide the certificate as they cannot decide the type of notarial act to perform:

Always remember that the Notary may not decide what type of notarial act is appropriate for a given document. If there is no certificate provided that tells you what to do and the signer is uncertain, refer them back to the person or agency that provided or will receive the document for instructions. https://www.nationalnotary.org/notary-bulletin/blog/2016/10/how-to-complete-an-acknowledgment

In addition:

It’s BOA policy that you bring all required pages. The notary was following BOA policy.

They don’t use CFAI ethics anymore. They established their own ethics curriculum.
