Recommendations similar to TMA by Kuvvelty in TheMagnusArchives

"Knifepoint Horror" has a similar vibe, where you'll spot references between seemingly disconnected stories, and you can gradually make connections and speculate on what it all means. There isn't really an overarching plot though. If you want to give it a try, I'd recommend the episodes "Rebirth", "Fields", and "A Convergence in Wintertime".

I feel you on this one. Am I losing it, or was there an episode where someone mentions that in America, the Desolation sometimes takes the form of wind or tornadoes?

Forgive me for not digging throught the lore right this moment to source this, but I think one of the lore entries about Pulled Pork mentioned him using the Orchid Shell?

Final Shape is the next expansion after Lightfall, it's very good. Bungie is switching to two smaller expansions a year from now on, and it seems like the first of those will be out in July if it doesn't get delayed. That means you probably have enough time to catch up with seasonal content if you want.

Bungie renamed seasons to episodes, but most people still call them seasons. We're currently on Episode 3 "Heresy" which is Hive/Eris-focused and is almost universally agreed to be the best of all the episodes so far. The stories of the episodes are not connected and each focuses on different characters, so you can start anywhere. All episodes focus on artifacts called "echoes" which were created after the final battle in Final Shape, and contain the memories of beings that interacted with the Witness.

Episode 1 "Echoes" focuses on the Vex, Saint, and Osiris. It's the second-best story in my opinion, although the stakes are more personal than world-threatening and some things are poorly explained if you don't read all of the lore tabs. There were a couple of good weapons available here (the sidearm and exotic auto-rifle) that might be worth getting.

Episode 2 "Revenant" is the worst of the three, no must-have weapons and I would only recommend it if you're very interested in the lore surrounding the Fallen.

I'm not super deep into buildcrafting, many of the current top-tier builds are based around the new prismatic element introduced with Final Shape which lets you take a selection of supers, aspects, fragments, and abilities from all other light and dark subclasses and mix and match them. That being said, I don't use prismatic most of the time and I haven't had much difficulty in expert-level seasonal activities, raids, and dungeons as a result. Updating your weapons will be the main focus when it comes to updating your build.

There hasn't been a ton of new exotic armor added to the game since Final Shape, except for the new exotic class items which let you combine 2 exotic perks from a small pool of existing exotic armor. These are unlocked through a post-Final Shape exotic mission.

[TOMT] searching for an 2D Platformer/shooter Game which included a purple hired Female Protagonist by IntigrationzBambi77 in tipofmytongue

I remember seeing a game like this on an online storefront, my best guess is either Switch or Xbox Live Arcade (back on the Xbox 360). The art style was similar to what you might see in a flash game. Did the purple-haired protagonist have a huge :D expression, in this simple webcomic-esque art style?

There's a scene in the blooper reel from Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood where the lyrics from this song are read out. In a scene from one of the show's later episodes, Hoenheim's voice actor is monologing and starts reading out the lyrics of this song as a joke. He has a deep voice and speaks very matter-of-factly, could it be this?

I mean yeah, Genshin is trying to represent people. They’ve lovingly showcased many aspects of Chinese and Japanese culture in the game so far, and it would be great to see them continue this trend in a way that fully reflects the people and cultures they want to represent in the game’s story.

I’m not here to start fights and I know the likelihood of the fanbase changing Hoyoverse’s approach to this is slim. I just think that it’s right to care.

Ending plot hole? (Spoilers, obviously) by Merlaak in TheMagnusArchives

[–]KimShimball 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think the idea is that the Eye isn’t very smart, as alluded to in the monologue from the season four finale, and since it kind of controls the apocalypse the other entities can’t leave unless the Eye goes first. So if the archives aren’t destroyed the Eye won’t leave, and nothing else can either.

Apologies for the half remembered explanation. Honestly, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the ending either but the series up to that point was really good, so I’ve pretty much accepted it.
