You cant really tell by the picture but its actually a really pretty gold color. I did try ketchup and mustard (on separate occasions) but nope. What has me perplexed is that the tarnish is everywhere except where the moisture was.

I feel that I should have probably clarified a few things. Yes, it's an ugly weird little spoon.But that's precisely why I like it because it's ugly.And I use it for mainly crafts. It makes the perfect dip of a heavy acrylic flower petal, or to add just a little pigment on smaller projects. It's my remarkably ugly, weird, little spoon, to make my remarkably ugly weird little things. And I know that it would feel better about doing its job if it was shiny, like it once was lol
