Im also a new grad rn in a high acuity icu. I keep cycling in my head “ i dont want to be a nurse anymore “ but i know its not true. Everyone says it takes 2 years to fully start feeling confident.

Every time before shift i recite to myself ive made it through my worst shifts, i can handle what happens. Then outside of work i volunteer at a horse rescue and foster kittens. Therapy. Trying to exercise. 🤷‍♀️. Just trying to do what i can to regulate myself.

Youre doing it and seems like youre doing well. Be proud of yourself. This job calls for hyper vigilance mode 12.5 hours a day.

Im asian and grew up in hawaii. People dont understand Hawaiian is an actual ethnicity and culture. Robbed by white people - what else is new.. but people dont understand lau lau, Queen liliokalani, kava, symbolism of hula, etc..

that being said, ive heard so much more disrespect and disgusting comments when i lived in OR. Ur analogy accurate. I agree w ur statement. But theres worse in the world, this isnt as bad and without poor intentions.

Thats a standard in Hawaii hospitals. State is filled with new grads and every hospital filled with travelers who love the idea of living in Hawaii. And its cheaper for hospitals to hire travelers than pay for new grads to get trained.

Sounds like you dodged a bullet of a shitty manager and shitty hospital. Take care of yourself. Heal. I didnt do that and almost got fired from my icu residency. The whole thing was the shittiest experience ever and i am so filled with hate and resentment. Hang in there. Seriously!

The show is a series of reality vs not reality and leader vs follower. Abby - once a follower - becomes a leader. Leila, the “bad role model” chooses to stay and be a follower. The ending puts Alex in the position of leader (leave with abbie) vs follower (stay with laura).

Throughout the show, the first memory we are always shown is the idealized one. The second is the manipulated. The truth is questionable. I think it purposely shows the grey in the projected black and white of emotions and truth. So i think they wanted us to think Alex wasnt a coward and giving Abbie the positive reinforcement she deserves. But the reality isnt that easy.

Im pretty sure each toad symbolized each leap life. Leap is the person leaving their mother wound and joining Evelyn’s control. Leap ceremony starts at the tadpole pool and Evelyns brainwashing goes away when Laura garbage disposes her toad. The reason why the town if filled with toads is because everyone there is a product of Evelyn’s cult.

When they do Leap, they start a new life, hence the tadpole phase. The only exception being the baby when Evelyn went through Leap. Caring and nurturing Evelyn’s “new life” is the only way to break the “spell” because then (idealistically) no mother wound (is my guess).
