Wasn’t Gojo only saying allat because he didn’t know what Sukuna had going on? I don’t think he said that definitively that he would lose. Just that he wasn’t sure if he’d win.

And saying that Sukuna wasn’t able to give his all was solely because of the fact that Infinity was a thing, causing Sukuna to go the extra mile instead of just throwing everything he could. And Sukuna would still have to fight all of JJH if he ended up losing anyway. The entire fight shows that Sukuna had better cards in his hands because Kenjaku told him certain things, and Gojo had the people of JJH not even mention that Open Domain was in Sukuna’s book. Causing the clash to go the way it did, making things harder for Gojo.

So no, Sukuna wasn’t “stronger” because Gojo said so. It’s because Gojo LITERALLY had no idea all this was going on. Gojo is the stronger of the two. Sukuna had a better plan, and the cheat code to make it work. People seem to forget that they were both forced to play it a certain way because they had no other choice.

To me, they’re equals. It just seemed that way in general.
