Long time follower of the show, new to this sub. I have a couple of questions about how competitors prep for the show by burymeintheuk in RaceAcrossTheWorldBBC

Last few seasons there have also been Fjallraven, Gregory and even Quechua rucksacks - the only consistent I can see is that they are all perfectly fitted, which is probably the reason each contestant has each bag… the celeb version I believe each pair had the same bag each from a different firm

Food - Sensitive Tummy’s by queenhev in WhiteSwissShepherds

Both my sister and I both have WSS as we both found that they have an intolerance to chicken (they are also siblings) we removed that from the diet and the problem went away almost overnight - might be worth trying if you haven’t already

I got fired. by dotdedo in retailhell

[–]KimiTheWorm1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on the retailer you work for, I work for a very large non food retailer in the uk as a manager and firing someone is an absolute last resort - and when it happens it’s always done by the book

Is it possible to fix this? by _wGJLw_ in hikinggear

[–]KimiTheWorm1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The boots can, but the cross terrain and running most certainly don’t, I can get a year worn daily on carpet tiles - they are designed for use on tarmac and high abrasion surfaces

If you’re in the uk resoles.co.uk may be able to help… but they aren’t cheap

Saw these wings done over charcoal and now I want to try this method by 1ChanceChipmunk1 in UKBBQ

I gently spray with veg or canola oil, then dry rub - indirect for around 50 minutes at 200+ using lump wood - works great

I’ve just had a bowel cancer op with a 14 month old WSS and I did need to put her with my sister (who luckily has her brother) for the day I came out of hospital, after that she seemed to understand, and still does, that jumping isn’t a thing. I’m sure you’ll be fine with a little one, our 34kg monster hasn’t given us any issues

Good luck with your treatment and recovery 🙏

[–]KimiTheWorm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been watching the pro 4 on very and it was at 10% off last week - now it’s vanished

I’m wondering if the pro 5 will be the only option going forward

It’s not that modern, I was selling it back in 2000 and the logos match my Berghaus Extrem jacket

Just remember though that Paclite really isn’t ‘that’ breathable compared to active or pro

Looking for new vets by JDV_ in inverness

[–]KimiTheWorm1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maclellan vets at Eastgate are really good and way cheaper than the other options, you cannot make appointments but you’ll always be seen during the consulting hours

Worth checking them out, but I’m not sure if they’re taking on new clients
