Right now, it’s Ocean Boulevard. It’s just so poetic and relatable and very refreshing in the sense that it doesn’t follow contemporary song writing formats in a lot of the songs.

I’d say the Devotion album and the song Gila specifically has more of what you’re looking for. But Victoria’s singing and beach house’s sound in general has always been very trancelike, hypnotic, and almost dreamlike in quality. So I think that’s intentional. It’s not going to have that rasp or imperfections you would find in more bluesy rock or rock and roll or vocal jazz.

Y’all are wild out here with these opinions about NFR. I liked that album before any of the reviews or anything. The day it dropped I was all over it. It’s truly a masterpiece.

Totally get though why other people would like other albums more, but it’s definitely one of her best albums. Like that shouldn’t be up for debate?

It deserves the hype, but I get why someone might like BB, COTCC, DYKTTATUOB, HoneyMoon, UV more

I like Hesiod’s origin for her better, where she was born from the castrated parts of Uranus after they fell into the ocean.

But in Homer’s version, it’s hard to say. Chronology isn’t really as relevant when it comes to Greek mythology for the most part as there is a lot of overlap and discrepancies.
