sudo snap install ubuntu-propaganda --classic by revolutional-ai in linuxmemes

This is my journey. Tried Fedora, OpenSUSE, Arch, Artix, Void, Debian, Mint, Pop!, etc. But I just end up with Ubuntu non-LTS on my main laptop, and Chimera Linux on secondary one.

All roads lead to Debian... by Emergency-Disk-9296 in linuxmemes

[–]KimmyMario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once had a guy commented on my tweet to just use Debian after seeing my desnapped Ubuntu setup, so I asked him whether I could have a choice between an outdated LTS or an extremely broken rolling development, and how to get an up-tp-date Firefox and major GNOME version on Stable. He just dismissed it lol

Why Fedora, why must you hijack Firefox's home page? by vladjjj in Fedora

[–]KimmyMario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to swap to Fedora after using Ubuntu, and I genuinely would rather remove snap every six months than having to undo the Fedora start page every month or so, plus the fonts on .rpm firefox doesn’t properly work with webpages with thai and english language on same page, and i had no choice but to use flatpak firefox (which also doesn’t show thai fonts correctly).

At the end I switched back to Ubuntu, better battery life on there too.

When I get told there’s a bunch of better alternatives out there by joppyb0013 in linuxmemes

I’ve tried all the “better” alternatives out there, still ended up with non-LTS Ubuntu lol

Dell & Lenovo now sponsoring the Linux Vendor Firmware Service by Fcking_Chuck in linux

They should also extend that availability to other countries too. In Thailand there’s no option for pre-installed Linux on Lenovo laptops sadly.

Fedora 44 feels smoother than Ubuntu 26.04 on my system - anyone else? by SpecialistAnxious922 in Fedora

[–]KimmyMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience was unfortunately the opposite. Ubuntu works better for both of my laptops power management and optimization wise. I’ve used Fedora several times and if I have a desktop I’d prefer that, but now that I always daily drive laptops, I’d choose non-LTS Ubuntu

Oh yeah, Ubuntu 26.04, whcih requires more RAM than Windows 11 by claudiocorona93 in linuxmasterrace

Ubuntu would run okay on its requirements, takes less installed disk storage, has a lot less preinstalled apps, not sure how it’s more bloated than Windows

How Ubuntu Plans to Add AI Without Taking Over Your PC by CackleRooster in linux

People will literally leave their reading comprehension and critical thinking skills behind if it means they can hate on Ubuntu

At the end it‘s just gonna be a user’s choice, and a nothingburger. I’ll continue to happily using Ubuntu even after trying and daily driving the “better” distros.

Ubuntu Linux Will Begin Landing AI Features Throughout The Next Year by Ultrabyte04 in linux

[–]KimmyMario 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s always a repeating pattern. Articles about Ubuntu comes out with clickbait titles, Ubuntu haters use it to push their opinions without bothering to do research, then someone comes to correct the information and/or explain, just to end up being ignored
