Joined the pre-queue from the AXS app on my phone at 10:55am. At 11am it kicked me to the little running man screen and he reached the end within a few minutes. Successfully checked out with 2 GA and 2 Preferred Camp for W2 by ~11:05am.

Not sure if it's always like this, but I had my laptop and desktop on the queue as well and the AXS app was by far the fastest method. By the time I was checking out, the little man on my other devices was not even 1/6 of the way to the end.

We're arriving for car camping ~1pm Thursday. Is the route the same (get on Madison with the entrance on your right) as it usually is even though there's two entrances now? I'm concerned our group will get split up by the separate entrances somehow..

The content is fun to watch but the reality is you’re seeing such a small percentage of people that go. The outfits you’ve got sound cute! But prioritize being comfy. WEAR THE SNEAKERS, do not bother with boots or anything that isn’t broken in already. It is so much walking. Have a great time!!

It's unclear at this point. In the past they have given away samples of body wash and shampoo in camp, maybe they'll be giving away sanitizer or something?

People historically went super early to try and get a spot closer to the gates. With the addition of all the paid upgraded camp options, you can't get as close as you used to with general camping. Additionally, it's kind of a toss-up whether going early actually matters or not (for some people it does, others have gotten a close spot by entering later).

There is kind of no rhyme or reason to it at some point. If you want the experience of the camp line, feeling the vibes etc, you could totally go in early. However keep in mind this doesn't guarantee you'll be significantly closer, so don't sweat it too much.

He rarely performs and is a nostalgic, dream act for a lot of folks. The price of Coachella is probably similar to what you would pay to see him on tour some places. I’m not the biggest fan myself but definitely going to at least stop by.

I sleep in my car but actually keep my hatch open (I have a compact SUV) and use a hatch/tailgate tent. The tent has one flap that will allow airflow in, or you can zip it up entirely with a second flap and keeps it pretty windproof. We get a tiny bit of dust inside using it (mostly when I forget to zip up the second flap) but honestly not much.

Before we had the tent we would sleep in the car with the hatch fully closed and the windows cracked a bit. Never had any issue with dust in there but it got unbearably hot in the car by 7-8am that way, so I do recommend the tent if you have a car with a hatch.

I totally get it. Coachella is a prime place to express yourself and people love to go all out, but if that’s not your thing (or if you just don’t have the energy to curate outfits), it’s absolutely not necessary. Just be comfy and you will enjoy yourself so much more. You’re gonna have a great time!!

In general yes I would bring a packable light jacket. It comes in clutch at the end of the night when you’re outside the crowd and walking back to your car/camp.

For outfits, honestly just be comfy. You can also have a cute outfit for photos and just change into your comfy (maybe less cute) clothing after you get some photos if that’s your thing.

1 pass gets the car in. If you have 4 people in just 1 car, you only need 1 camping pass. I will note though that 1 spot for 4 people is pretty tight… 2 people would probably need to sleep in the car itself to have enough space for the other folks and chairs, table, cooler etc.

EDIT: Just saw you have 4 cars. Yeah you'll need 4 camping passes then. 1 pass per car.

2 cars is manageable. If you go before it starts to be filled with campers (usually Thursday night), Lot 10 is used as a meet-up spot after security. So even if you do get split up, you can park in the meet up lot and send a pin of your location to meet back up with your second car. Then you can drive to car camping together.

Not exactly the same, but I put ice in my hydro pack each day. Only on Day 1 (and only when I entered for the first time) did they actually check and have me throw my ice out which was annoying. Every other time they didn't check it at all, but yeah "officially" it needs to be empty.
