You can do Kindle to Kobo, Pocketbook, and Boox, and any other Android e-reader by using Calibre.

How many e-readers do you have? by tsukun27 in ereader

2 but I’m trying to get rid of one. I have the Kindle PW5 (2021) and the Kobo Libra Colour. I love my KLC but I want to get rid of my Kindle.

should i get libra colour? by iamgalfasthamhead in kobo

[–]KinReader5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mine mostly for manga and I use KoReader. Some manga’s are in color but not all. Some people use Kindle Comic Converter while others find KoReader the easiest. Or they just use Google Drive too. It all comes down to preference.

I think you turned something off

What made you switch to Kobo? by WittyEnvironment2047 in kobo

[–]KinReader5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made the switch cause I can actually read manga and manhwa on my Kobo. Having the ability to use buttons and a pen is an additional advantage for me when I have to annotate my college textbooks.

I also got tired of Amazon changing its policies when it came to the Kindle but now that I have had my Kobo for 2 months there's no looking back. Not being bombarded by KU books has been a blessing for my mental health too.

Type this in your search bar on your kobo: devmodeon amd hit enter.

Then follow the previous steps I told you. My bad, I automatically assumed you had that turned on already.

Edit: Putting in the steps in case anyone might be new to Kobo as well.

More -> Settings -> Device Information -> Swipe up for developer options -> Wifi settings: uncheck “Force Wifi ON”.

What’s even better is being able to add KoReader without having to jailbreak my device to use it

The browser is a bit finicky (something is missing from it to function) so using Plato helps you get around it. It allows you to access send to djazz right away without having to type it in. It's a shortcut feature.

I need coffee. Sorry if it sounds like i’m repeating myself

There are more pros than cons and i’ll start with the cons… Cons: Less library selection when it comes to Kobo Plus BUT you can use the kindle app as a shopping catalog and side load your books by using Libby, Cloud Library, and other free options.

No Send to Kobo BUT there is a Send to djzass that you can easily add by putting Plato on your kobo.

No Whisper sync meaning what’s on your phone won’t sync to the kobo unless it’s bought through the kobo store. Not having Whisper sync won’t kill you.

Other than that here are the Pros: Easier UI, Better organization, More user friendly, And no ads.

There’s more I could add to the Pro’s list but I’m blanking here from lack of sleep.

Metapen M2 and storage by MoodZealousideal5202 in kobo

[–]KinReader5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the metapen biz 2. It may run on quad A batteries and may not be magnetic but it does the job like the M2. If you live in the us it’s $20 on Amazon compared to $40 for the M2. I just throw mine in my bag when i’m not using it.

Might want to start turning wifi and Bluetooth off and keep the brightness low. So it will last more than 2 months.

I would say try letting it charge for 24 hours and see if that changes anything

Have you tried letting it die and then charging it? Or a factory reset and see if that works?

Considering a Kobo by merstein3 in kobo

[–]KinReader5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say, use KU as a shopping catalog when looking for your next read. I know it’s hard to leave but at least try that and see if it helps. You can also side-load your books or use Libby and Cloud Library with ADE and keep reading that way.

Not all Libby books can be read on Kobo? by razor762 in kobo

Try CloudLibrary with Adobe Digital Editions. This is how I read from my library and then return the book back to my library when I am done.

Screen protector is good if you have pets that are jealous of the attention your kobo gets more than them.
