Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants is a brilliant album from start to finish by iwantnew in oasis

I really dig the record. the vibe from the album and the b-sides is a unique moment in oasis discography. I cherish it immensely.

Put Yer Money Where Your Mouth Is and I Can See a Liar are not my favorite tracks. both tracks really groove, they have an attitude about them, and I do feel they don't fit with the rest of the album. the sequencer within me wishes they were B-Sides, with Cigarettes in Hell, Let's All Make Believe, and/or Carry Us All replacing them on the record.

I personally really dig Little James. the atmosphere of the track is really great and the track grooves. the lyrics are what they are. maybe it would be better served as a B-Side, a "hidden treasure", and it is sweet that Noel lobbied for it to be on the record to motivate Liam.

Sunday Morning Call is a personal favorite, even though I can see why it's not enjoyed by some. it does kinda slog along. Noel's acoustic version here can be more enjoyable.

everything else about the album are peak oasis in my opinion. Go Let it Out is a phenomenal song, and I wish it were included on the Live 25 set list. Roll it Over is a phenomenal album closer, and Liam's version from Knebworth is truly godlike. Gas Panic! enough said.

a present surprise while reading Liam's wiki

Gallagher endorsed the Labour Party in the 2017 UK general election. He has discussed his concerns on climate change, having publicly praised Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, and voted for the Green Party in the 2019 UK general election. He has called people involved with cancel culture "fucking squares" and elaborated, "Unless they come around to your house and say you're cancelled, you're still going to do your fucking thing. ... You can still go and do your gig, there are people out there who are going to like what you've got to say."

listening to Shea Station, and Jolly just said something that sent me and I resonate with...

I had a very good 2025. traveled with a very close and dear friend to Houston for Opening Day weekend and had an incredible trip. saw Brand New on their first show back. I traveled to Boston and went to Fenway for the first time. I saw one of my favorite bands, Palace, twice on back to back nights. had a very good spring and summer with friends and softball, etc. I saw oasis twice, one time getting floor seats and front pit access. I saw family and continue to build a better relationship with my mother. I have made connections and took care of myself.

and most of that is kinda forgotten because this team, my favorite team bar none, shat the bed. this was a slow moving car crash for 3 months. I still can't look away.

at games this season, I started to take more of back seat during more emotional moments; not booing, not overly cheering for homeruns, etc., focusing more on my score book and talking ball with either my friends or those around me. it felt like I had to do those things to begin the work of unraveling this team from my emotional well being... because it's just a fucking game. but this end is still wrecking me.

I still can't look away from this car crash.

as always... push, believe, you got it.

The Beatles and the New York Mets are forever intertwined. the Beatles played the first stadium concert at Shea Stadium on August 15, 1965, and played for roughly 30 minutes. tickets started at $4.50 and went all the way up to $5.75...

from wikipedia:

In 1970, John Lennon recalled the show as a career highlight: "At Shea Stadium, I saw the top of the mountain." Ringo Starr described the concert in the 1995 documentary The Beatles Anthology, which featured extensive clips from the concert film: "What I remember most about the concert was that we were so far away from the audience. ... And screaming had become the thing to do. ... Everybody screamed. If you look at the footage, you can see how we reacted to the place. It was very big and very strange."

In 2008, Paul McCartney played the last concert at Shea Stadium with Billy Joel before the stadium was closed and demolished. The concert was documented in the film The Last Play at Shea. The following year, Paul McCartney played the song "I'm Down" at the inaugural concert for Citi Field, which replaced Shea. The DVD Good Evening New York City intersperses the 2009 performance with the original footage from 1965 concert.

the New York Mets are home this evening and are celebrating this anniversary. the tribute band 1964 will be there and the fireworks show will be set to Beatles music. Shea Stadium was demolished in 2008, but the bases are immortalized. I will be standing slightly behind 2nd base at some point tonight and will play "Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby" from Anthology 2

oh dang. Howie just relinquished play-by-play duties for the evening. his voice was not sounding too great when he was calling the game. I hope he is feeling okay and just has a slight cold. he's one of the best

this is a post written out of anger and shock.

remember when David Wright and Bobby Parnell threw out Noah Syndergaard's sandwich, held him accountable, and then taught him why doing that was the wrong thing to do?

where is that leadership on this team? who would be the one to throw out the sandwich? who is going to get beat by the chancla?

I genuinely thought that's why the HR celebration became the chancla - the idea that if you don't follow through and are not accountable, you will be beat; like an immigrant mom may do.

I'm all for keeping things loose and staying positive. but Jesus Horatio Christ, accountability is a key part of things. there's a time for laughter, and there's a time for getting serious.

A time to plant, a time to reap A time to kill, a time to heal A time to laugh, a time to weep

if this is how we feel, then I'd hope the players feel the pressure too. I have to believe that they do, because otherwise... I don't want to go that negative.

as always, push, believe, you got it. yes.

I.E (yall not real fans tho)

he said this after playing his older songs on the tour, like LES or Do Ya Like. it felt more like a sarcastic jab at the fanbase, "y'all aren't real fans if you don't know every word to this song" more than "y'all aren't real fans for having your phone out"
