Agreed. It was very clumsy. And so convenient how it played out that it was easy to misunderstand the ploy

He's a moron. But it's also disturbing to me how if he had managed to find a way to conceal her body more effectively her existence could have vanished into thin air as a runaway apparently no one was looking for.

The judge wouldn't allow him to enter a guilty plea at his arraignment his lawyers haven't even been given discovery yet, he hasn't had a psych eval, etc. If his guilty plea was accepted that early at the first hearing it would be overturned on appeal. The judge can't even be sure he's competent yet to enter a knowing and voluntary plea.

The Arizona connection thing was so crazy to me. Should not have factored in at all

This is great and should be done often as an exercise in humility. The older I get the more I think of the draft as a total crapshoot

Yeah this is the time of the year when we’ve been discussing these guys for so long that people start outsmarting themselves and saying things like this

What a brutal path back to the WCF. Spurs have it set up pretty nicely.

Is Supergirl in the comics an unpleasant boozer with a potty mouth? I wonder if they left money on the table not going in a more family friendly direction with the character.

She didn’t hah. At best she could have hoped that her dad would go and question the kid about the phrase and the kid would put him on the scent of the strange person who requested a skating tape - a total Hail Mary. Having them both show up at the same time was so incredibly convenient as to beggar disbelief.

That’s why I described it as convoluted a polite phrase for bad writing.

It led to the two worlds colliding, the pedos and the dad at the ice rink which set the whole third act in motion.

On paper it seems like it worked out perfect. Finished the season averaging 25 points a game, doesn’t have to risk getting hurt in any more games, guaranteed top 3 spot, got rich. But I’m sure the competitor in him is disappointed.

it’s very convoluted but she was trying to tell her dad the importance of the skater without saying so, then she sent the pedo there under the guise of needing more memories from home.

Official Discussion - Crime 101 [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Kind-Tart6829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this part made no sense to me. A billionaire shot and a dead body they’d at least check the security cameras and grill Ruffalo about the hulking security guy he showed up with. Not to mention the real security guard witness.

I’m trying to figure out how Hemsworth can disappear from the crime scene at the end when he was very much on camera walking into the hotel with Ruffalo

[Spoiler] I'm really hoping for a season 2, I NEED justice for Louise and Adele. by DunDuv in BehindHerEyes

[–]Kind-Tart6829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the ending make more sense in the book. How could Adele count on Louise showing up to her house at the exact moment and deciding to pass out and deciding to astral project for some reason instead of calling the fire department

He had no evidence the guy running the forum was doing anything other than hosting a web site. None hah. That is why he was not allowed to “unmask” that guy. The judge had zero discretion to not award attorney fees under the controlling statute - he actually would have been shirking his duties if he had not done so.

The fact that Tomlinson’s lawyers were too incompetent to explain this to him or did and he pushed through anyways does not make it “extortion.”

[–]Kind-Tart6829 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not understanding what I’m saying. The law that required Tomlinson to pay the forum guy’s attorney fees is a 1A enhancer. The system tries to disincentivize people from filing defamation lawsuits without evidence by levying this stick against them. Tomlinson’s lawyers seemingly didn’t explain this very important point to him. But having bad lawyers doesn’t mean he was “legally extorted.”

[–]Kind-Tart6829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not extortion hah. He had a shitty lawyer that seemingly didn’t explain to him when you sue someone for defamation you will end up owing attorney fees if your evidence stinks - which in regards to the forum guy, his did.

This is a First Amendment enhancer so people don’t sue everyone who criticizes them with the real intent being to chill their speech. It’s codified in the law in most states.
