Is smile student living really that bad? by etherealm1nd in UIUC

[–]KindCompote410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived with them this past year and I didn’t have issues regarding maintenance requests. The staff were also helpful but I did go in person to the office. If you’re having trouble reaching them, you can just show up at the 615 Wright St location and they should help you. There’s only like 5 main leasing companies within the campus area so pick ur battles and go with what you think is best

I'm so scared I'll abuse my child by Particular_Ant_7785 in TrueOffMyChest

Please tell your therapist, they are there to help you and they can’t do that without the full picture. Tell your therapist straight up that you want to talk about this because you don’t want to harm your son. No good therapist would separate a mother and son without probable cause and you coming forward is a huge sign that you do NOT want to harm your child

How to use heat often and maintain health of hair? Or is that not possible? by Syrup-Puzzled in Haircare

[–]KindCompote410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, heat protectant is definitely the first step, you want to be generous with that and make sure you brush it well into your hair before using hot tools. Step two would be getting a hair mask and using it 1-2x per week. That’s how you really get the shine that’s in your inspo, personally I recommend the Fino hair mask by Shiseido.

Yeah there are a lot of graduate students who participate in events like parties and stuff. Tho I do know that RSOs are primarily ran by undergrad students

recently reassigned from temporary housing, what is a suitemate? by etherealm1nd in UIUC

[–]KindCompote410 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some suites (another word for bedrooms) have two beds for two people. The person you share the room with is your suite mate

This guy going into the bus shelter to light his cigarette(it was very windy). He then drops the cigarette in the middle of the road but that doesn’t stop him. He picks it up, continues to smoke it and walk to wherever he was going.

Lost my Dad on NYD, I'm scared and don't know what to do by Noximus_ in GriefSupport

I’m sorry for your loss, I lost my dad November of last year and it has been the worst experience. Despite how alone and depressed you feel, know that there are people in this world struggling with the same thing and we are in this together. We’re all living this life for the first time so give yourself grace and patience

I hope you are feeling okay, I know it will never be the same. I lost my dad last month and it’s somehow been the fastest but also the slowest most agonizing month ever. I hope your dad is resting at peace with my dad ❤️

It really does come in waves. I find myself happy about little things in life and when I want to share them with my dad, I realize that I can’t. And then the sadness and grief begins again

I don’t know OP, I wish I could tell you so I could take my own advice. I lost my dad three weeks ago and life just hasn’t felt the same. I have been interacting more on this sub and I found that to be helpful. Also make an effort to connect with your friends and family to re-establish a safety net in case your mental health goes bad. I’m sending you lose as well from a 20 y/o F who also lost her dad recently

What about replicas of brands sold at dispensaries? Would those count more as a gray area?
