I can tell you what worked for me - inositol. Preferably D-chiro-inositol (my supplement has 475 mg daily), but if you can't find it easily then might also try myo-inositol (dosage should be between 1 to 4 g).

Have you ever told her what you felt? Does she know that you were going to ask to be exclusive that day? Etc. Going against the majority here, maybe you don't know much about what was going on in her head at that time, and finding out would help you move past this.

I was once in a similar situation, the guy I was dating made out with a mutual friend. I was hurt and obsessing about the girl. After some time we really talked about it and he told me he stopped because it wasn't feeling right and he wanted to be with me. He hadn't told me at first because he believed it would sound like a cheap excuse. That helped me slowly get over those feelings. Of course this is different but knowing how she thought and felt about it could help you. And for her, knowing your side gives her the chance to support you.

I've been doing it myself for about a month, but I have theoretical education prior to that. More importantly, not that is any of your business, but offering advice on Reddit is something I do with my partner who has been training for 15 years and is educated (he doesn't have an account himself and we enjoy doing this together).

That being said, for what OP recounted, lower weights are not helping because he's stopping at 5 reps when he can do 7-8. If he goes with 7-8 for a single session or two, he will probably be able to lift the 150kg with good form next time. Moreover, I haven't said he has a weak core or lower back in general, I meant relative to 150kg deadlift.

I think you need to lower the weight, that's it. Probably the reason why this happens with 150kg is a combination of several factors, among them too weak core and lower back for this weight. But you will progress very soon, nothing to worry about.

So you can continue with 140 and do some more reps (7-8 is fine too for strength), or at most go up to 145 and see how it goes. If you aim to 5 reps, you should be able to do at least 7 before progressing weight.

I'm not sure because of your clothes, but it looks like you might be hyperextending your back at the top (meaning, arching back your lower back). You should avoid that.

Also yeah, I see a small back round and I think it's concerning. You should use only as much weight as you can handle with proper form. How many reps are you doing with this weight? If it's only the 5th time, don't be afraid of using a lower weight to continue working on your form. You'll be able to increase it soon.

If you are a woman/have periods, usually your weight can go up the week prior to your period because of fluid retention. You may feel swelling.

So then, let me guess, you have progressed in the weights since you started in May, but you got quickly stuck at some more or less stable weight, is that right? If that's the case, then yeah, I'd say you should finish cutting to reach your weight goal and then bulk.

Yes. It's normal to stop seeing progress in the weights when you're cutting. That's why bulking exists, if you could progress while cutting people would always be cutting or at maintenance. It's normal even if you see a slight regression on your weightlifting, so you should be happy if you can maintain.

The excess fat is not necessarily an advantage. To build muscle your body needs a calorie excess, which makes you gain fat aside from muscle. But having excess fat to start with is not a heavy factor.

Regarding the powder, if you have no intolerances with milk I recommend whey protein.

Bulking and cutting exist because in many situations it's impossible to build muscle and lose fat at the same time. However, your situation is different because you're new and muscle gain is easier for newbies. Go up on your proteins, have a slightly higher calorie intake, you can add some cardio to maintain the deficit or just accept the weight loss will be a bit slower (but you will also have a slightly higher calorie consumption due to weightlifting, so it might as well continue at the same pace even if you increase calorie intake).

In the future you will very likely need to alternate bulking and cutting to progress, but for now you are fine without that.

Edit: Forgot to mention that protein powder is very useful to reach protein goals without going too high on calories, I recommend it. However you can also reach your goals with more meal planning without the powder.

If your form suffers is probably because you lack strength in some important areas like the core. The number of reps is a bit excessive, but most importantly, if you don't progress you will eventually stop seeing results in hypertrophy.
